I use a shampoo called wen, it has conditioner in it too. I stopped straightening it because the heat was damaging it. Any tips? How can I get my curly hair to grow out faster?

HOPE I HELPED =]How can I get my curly hair to grow out faster?
Yeah, if you do swim a lot the chlorine will probably end up drying out your hair.
Em, there is nothing that can really make your hair grow out, but one thing that you can do is, every time at the end of your shower, rinse your hair with cold water. This helps increase blood circulation, which contributes to hair growth. This wont help a lot in the short term, BUT in the long term (like a year or so) your hair should be getting pretty long. And i guess just make sure you have a healthy balanced diet and all.
If you really really dont want to wait that long, and are willing to spend money, you can go to the pharmacy and ask for something that helps your hair %26amp; nails to grow. I used this thing called 'Biotin'. Works pretty well for me, tbh. I've seen results in like a month.
Hope i helped
*I have curly hair too, btw, and mine is super hard to grow out as well. Basically, the Biotin is a sort of 'last resort'
Hair growth is biological, meaning that nothing that you do to your hair has any effect on it's growth rate. So you can damage it all you want and it will not slow down growth.
Hair isn't alive and it doesn't grow. Hair is an accumulation of a protein called keratin inside the follicle. As it builds up on the bottom it is pushed out the top, creating ';hair growth';. This is a biological process so nothing that you do to your hair, like trimming it or using some ';special'; shampoo can help. Eat a healthy, protein rich diet and take a regular multivitamin daily. Since hair is protein, eating foods rich in protein like peanut butter and fish can help to accelerate growth.
Do not take prenatal vitamins, despite what some uneducated people here may say, taking too many vitamins can do serious damage to your organs, cause arthritis, and can even cause death. It isn't ';just extra nutrients,'; it is deadly so don't believe it. I don鈥檛 mean to sound negative, but this is serious and I don't want to see people get hurt for long hair!
So no shampoo (including Mane nTail!) can, in any way, accelerate hair growth. Hair growth is almost entirely genetic, and a little bit diet, so all that you can do it change your diet. Split ends cause breakage on the bottom of your hair, not at the base. Hair is an inanimate strand of protein, nothing that you do to the bottom if it can have any effect on the top of it.
Hair growth is entirely biological and has nothing to do with the hair that you already have, so having healthy hair DOES NOT mean that it will grow faster. If you want healthy hair, avoid heat at all costs and get a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, wash the conditioner out with cold water.
Of course, everyone knows that you can't make your hair grow any faster than it is programmed to grow. There is nothing you can put on the outside that is going to affect the roots under the skin. If you only thought about that, you would know it's true.
The way your hair grows was determined before you were born. And that's how it's going to be. Curly hair takes a long time to get longer because it has to go round and round rather than straight out. It will get longer, but you won't see it.
There is no such thing as conditioner in shampoo! They may say so, but that is a complete waste of money... it is contradicting itself. You could just add oil to any shampoo for all the good it does. A conditioner is a different treatment. And yes, of course, chlorine is going to be hard on the hair. Use a good clarifying treatment. Or use the baking soda treatment periodically to clear off the coating on the hair. Wear a swim cap. Cover your hair with real conditioner (not wax or oil) under the cap to protect your hair.
i ';used'; to have that WEN. it sux for me
i suggest a swimming cap
tip
soak hair with water before entering the pool so it wont soak as much chlorine
wash hair the moment you get out
deep condition it often
you need to wear a swim cap when you swim.
no.
