It's weird! Why is curly hair a dominant gene when I only see people with straight hair?
It's called hair straighteners most (if not every) household owns one!Why is curly hair a dominant gene when I only see people with straight hair?
    They straighten it.

    %26amp; for your other question:

Straight is very in style right now. Also, a lot of curly haired people don't know how to define their curls, so they end up a big, messy, frizzy afro! They straighten it to calm it all down.
It is just the style right now to have straight hair. Actually at the moment it is kind of going into wavy hair, so you should see more of that around. But yes, a good deal of women with surly hair straighten it.
    Many people straighten theres :P
    I straightened it.
most people straighten their hair. (:

How do you get your hair to stay curly/wavy?

My hair is soooooooo stuborn! It refuses to curl no matter what I do. I take good care of my hair (shampoo and condition daily). When it'is dry, I curl it. But when I brush it out, it becomes straight again. If I don't brush it, it looks like I just got out bed (frizzy and messy). Got any tips? How do you get your hair to stay curly/wavy?
As someone with curly hair, I have some suggestions. If you are looking for a nice, soft curl you might want to try hot-rollers instead of a curling iron. And, whatever you do, don't brush it. Because your hair is naturally straight, the curl you can get from a hot-roller will be much softer and you should be able to seperate the curls with your fingers. Also, have you tried a diffuser on your hair dryer? If there is any natural curl to your hair this item will being it out. I use it on my hair when I want it to be super curly, but I've used it on my daughters straight hair with wonderful results. How do you get your hair to stay curly/wavy?
I have naturally curly hair and as the day goes on my curl seem to fall out, so I starting using Pantene Pro-V scrunching gel it's in a clear tube with pink writing. I've tired a 100 other products but I think this works the best. If I brush my hair, my curl falls out too, so I use a pick when it's wet to comb through it, then I use the gel, and dry it with a diffuser. Good Luck!
    hairspray hairspray hairspray

    -use it before u curl

-durin wen ur curlin it wit the curlin iron

    -after curlin it
try using mousse when your hairs wet, then use hairspray once youve styled it, i have the same problem with my hair so i know how u feel! even if i use loads of products, it only stays curly for 2 hours max :o(
ok i guess if you brush the top part it will be straight so just let the end be curly or do it the best way you know how.
its best to put curl products in damp hair. it works sooo much better. use a gel-cream or a mousee in damp hair. then when its dry you could put shine serum if its still frizzy
I would get a permanent, but just one for waves so it won't be too curly. This way if you brush it out after shampoo, carefully making it into the style you want, spray it lightly with hair spray, it will stay like that. That is what a permanent is for. Good luck.

What can I do to make my very curly hair poofier?

I just got my haircut and my new stylist said that the only way to fix my hair is to cut it all off and start over again. Now that she did that its REALLY short and looks kinda like a boy's cut. If I make it poofier it will look more girly. I've tried flipping my head over and blow-drying it and scrunching it really hard but none of that has worked. Will diffusing it work?

Thanks! What can I do to make my very curly hair poofier?
Yes diffusing it will help. Also if your hair is naturally curly, a good curl definer will help. Curls Rock by Catwalk or Ringlet by Redken are good. Also try a good root boost. Root Boost by Catwalk or Guts by Redken is what I would suggest. And remember, if you got a lot cut off, your hair is in shock right now and won't be very cooperative. Give it a few days to get in the groove of how you want to fix it. Good luck! What can I do to make my very curly hair poofier?
no diffuse blow dry your hair upside down and shake and shuffle your hair
get a fork and hold it real tight and stick it in the wall socket!

    Permanently straighten
Well, in my opinion (but that's just me) I think you should layer it. It looks better that way, especially if you have curly hair. But if your hair is more to the frizzy side, you should straighten it.
try www.scunci.com %26amp; u can do it home lool
ask mika... his hair looks cool and its curly...
The best thing and the most important thing I believe is to keep it evenly distrubuted, and up, if you're a girl.
Just let it down. It's pretty.
layer it so it looks like a V in the back. my hair is wavy curls and my hair gets tangles a lot. i comb my hair in a shower, right after i apply conditioner on. Then once I get out of the shower, I put on Frizz-Eaze. It really helps because when it air-dries, your natural curls are less frizzy and more natural looking.

When was the last time you had a Curly Wurly?

It's been years for me. I seem to remember enjoying them but I cna't remember what they tasted like. When was the last time you had a Curly Wurly?
Oh you bad person! I'm gonna have to go and get one now but can't till tomorrow! I remember that at first I didn't really want to know about Curly Wurlys (or is it Curly Wurlies.....?) cos the wrapper said caramel on it and I wasn't such a fan, I preferred fudge but one day I had a bite of my sisters and it was *just like fudge* and it was HUGE!! Mmmmmmm.............. I go buy tomorrow.......wonder where I'll get one........When was the last time you had a Curly Wurly?
Last week. Had some over Christmas.

About 2 months ago, and yes, they are smaller.
today, but it was the first one i'd had in a few years n i must say it didn't taste as good as they used to, not as much chocolate n the toffee wasn't ac chewy
Too chewy for me, for me, it's crunchies all the way.
last week out of the bairns selection box , had to bribe him for it though
yesterday - my kids had umpteen selection boxes and they don't like the curly wurly's (result!) my husband and i have been curly wurlying at least twice a week since christmas!!!

my daughter bought one yesterday, and judging by the mess it tasted good
must be a few years ago for me,i think.

Whats the best and safest way to straighten curly hair?

You must start with a shampoo and conditioner to help straighten hair. Then use a leave in conditioner to add protection before applying heat. #2 use a hair serum to help straighten like Paul Mitchell hair serum this is light weight and helps detangle the hair (make sure her ends are freshly cut for healthy hair). #3 blow dry on high air, cool temperature (this will help help the softness and sheen) This is an important step. Use a vented hairbrush while blow drying. #4 use a flat iron on heat setting 10-15 depend on the texture of hair for fine thin a hair use the 10 setting or lowest temp. for thick to coarse use 12-15 or med temps. #5 finish with a hair polish spray for shine.

Good Luck!Whats the best and safest way to straighten curly hair?
First try having her apply a straightening cream after showering, and then blow drying with a round brush. If that isn't straight enough for her, you should buy a hair straightener. They have improved a lot. Ceramic straighteners don't damage hair as much. Also, if you apply a heat protectant spray to her hair before she straightens it, she should be fine. Also, have her use the lowest setting possible on the straightener. The site below has more tips for getting straight hair.Whats the best and safest way to straighten curly hair?
i dont know. i have the same problem. i also have curly hair but keep it natural and style it as best as possible.
The problem comes with deciding to use chemicals (like relaxers)or heat (like flat irons). I'd say if you wanted to go curly after your straight phase, invest in a good flat iron. Heat of course can sometimes be damaging to hair so you'll want to condition your hair every other wash and deep condition once a week ( or every 4 washes). I'm not a professional, but my hair stylist has given me the same advice. **I'm assuming you wash your hair daily.**

Some things to remember...conditioning everyday will leave build-up on your scalp. Use 2 different shampoos and alternate them. Maybe one for body and shine, and one for dry scalp or something to keep your hair from getting resistant to one type of shampoo.

    Hope this helps.

How do I keep my lashes to stay curly once I've curled them?

I was thinking mabey this would work:

Apply clear mascara and then curl? Would that keep them in place? What else could I do?How do I keep my lashes to stay curly once I've curled them?
Warm up your eyelash curler with a blow dryer before your curl. The warmth works like a curling iron and leaves your lashes curly all day. Then once you've curled them, apply a curl-enhancing mascara.

And don't listen to the dummies that answered hairspray. They obviously sniffed too much of it.How do I keep my lashes to stay curly once I've curled them?
this is what I do and mine stayed curled allllll day!

apply your eyeshadow, eyeliner and all your eyemakeup first

then use the eyelash curler to the roots of your eyelashes and curl

press done on it for a few secs. and repeat if you feel you need to

then apply several layers of Lash Blast mascara

but not soooooo many layers that its all clumpy you know?(:

    goodluck

    can you answer mine?(:

Never put on your mascara before curling your lashes -- you'll risk losing a lot of eye lashes that way. You're just going to have to find a good mascara that will hold your curl so that it won't come out. It can be clear or colored mascara, whichever one you prefer.
For real, hair spray! But don't spray it right on your eye...I mean, I guess you could and it would make your eye shadow stick better too...but it might get in your eyes and that wouldnt be fun. Spray some hair spray onto your fingers and pinch your eyelashes and then curl them. It works!
Apply mascara then curl and repeat. My eye lashes are super long and it takes FOREVER to curl them. So I curl-apply-curl-apply-curl-dry-curl. It's alot of work but it's worth it. I get compliments all the time and women asking me if my lashes are fake.
Use a good Curler. I recommend these two. Shu Umera (Very Expensive) or ELF at http://eyeslipsface.com ($1 plus shipping fee). Then Use a Waterproof Mascara. Waterproof mascara makes it sweatproof and smudge proof, keeping it curly at the same time.
Get a blowdryer, and use it on the eyelash curler, to heat it before using it. -not like hot, just warm-

This will help them stay curled.

You don't need to apply clear mascara first.

    Just use normal mascara after.

    Hope I helped! :D
hold your eyelash curler in front of a hair blowdryer on ';hot'; for a little while, wait a couple seconds, curl your eyelashes, and then apply mascara. it really makes a huge different :] good luck
    Try this...

Curl them and then use waterproof mascara.

It dries faster so it sets the curl.

then use cold cream to take off the mascara. it wont pull ur lashes off and it wont leave them greasy.
    Curl than mascara.

It wont stay on forever, so it it comes out once in a while, than curl than mascara again.

For mascara, use any color you want to.

    Hope I helped. (:
My lashes are straight too. Use an eyelash curler more then once and put on mascara between each time you use the curler. Just make sure that the mascara is dry and don't let your lashes get ripped out (but that won't happen).
i usually apply clear mascara, curl, then apply black mascara. if it starts to un-curl, just curl them carefully again.
    Scotch tape them back?

P.S. My older sister told me that when I was little. I thought it sounded a bit strange too, but some people have no sense of humor with the down thumbing.
try black mascara it works better

    answer mine plez

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;
No, you curl your eyelashes first with an eyelash curler. Then you put on your mascara. If you want your lashes to stay curled then avoid touching them or getting them wet.
put mascara on then curl for 3-6 seconds (depending on how hard it is to curl ur lashes) then just curl then throughout the day
DiorShow mascara works for me after I use my amazing eyelash curler (Shu Uemera). I think clear mascara will make it worse since its so thin. Maybe use blow dryer?
    mascara
mascara and curl them again. DONT listen to the retard who said hairspray.
    Try a heated eyelash curler.
I curl them, use mascara, then curl again. Stays all day long.
    Spray with lash protector.
    something with moisture
use mascara and then curl them again
    curl then mascara..and maybe curl again . : ]
try using a blowdryer after you use mascara. close your eyes though!
lots of mascara, it will bring out your eyes at the same time :)
You could BRAIDS then @ nights and that will do the trick !
it will until u wash them ,,or u can use water proff.
    Hairspray!
    superglue or pancake syrup,

    its what my wife uses.

dont think I would recommend hairspray though, im sure that would hurt a little....lol

It really depends on what kind of hair you have, and what your looking for...but basically if you have very very straight hair, your only option may be a curling iron/hot curlers. You may be able to experiment with some various creams, gels, spray, serums, etc as well as shampoos and conditioners. I have used Garnier Fructis products with great success, as well as any type of ';sprunching'; spray/gel. It will mostly take a lot of trial and error, because it all depends on what kind of hair you have. Good luck :)

What are those called, and why do they wear their hair in this manner? What is the name of the religious group where the Jewish men wear the long curly sideburns?
Generally, those are Hassidic Jews, at least in the U.S.; there are other sects that observe the practice as well. The side curls are called ';peyos.'; The hair is worn this way in obedience to a ';negative'; commandment that says that a man should not ';round off'; the corners of their heads, or the corners of their beards. The reference is in Leviticus 19:27.What is the name of the religious group where the Jewish men wear the long curly sideburns?
Everyone answered correctly, They are called Chassidim.

Chassidim sarted in europe and Russia. The reason that they have long sideburns is because 1) The Torah (Bible) says you shouldn't cut the corners of your face with a razor so therefore they don't cut it at all

    2) another reason which i feel applies is b/c they want to seperate themselves from non jews as much as possible
Hasidim. There are different groups of Hasidim, like the Lubavitchers.

The sideburns are called payot or peyos and they're worn because of a command not to shave the sides of one's face in the Bible.
As you've already discovered from other answers, they're called peyos and worn by Chasidic Jews - and there's a nice piece about them here: http://judaism.about.com/od/prayersworsh
    Hasidic
More traditions of man. Talmud stuff.

Go and get Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner. It is sold at Walmart, Walgreens and I think at Farm and Fleet. At walmart and at Farm and Fleet it will be in the pet section. It is actually made for horses mane's and tail's however I have a friend who adopted a child from Africa and she uses it on her hair and now she can actually get a comb thru her hair without her crying! She said it made a world of difference.
what i do is put some of that fructis... ir however you spell it. lol

and sleep with my hair wet

the fructis that i use is actually for straight hair... but it works perfect for me... makes it very very soft
after you wash your hair just keep brushing it til it dries. i'm pretty sure that'll work. just try it. :)

How do you get your hair like the curly mandy moore has in Because I said So?

I love how she had her hair curled! I've been trying to figure out how she does it, but I can't. I also really like how she did the side braid with her bangs. Anyone know how to do that? How do you get your hair like the curly mandy moore has in Because I said So?
WHEN YOU HAIR IS WET TWIST IT INTO A BUNCH OF DIFFERNT DIRECTIONS. THEN HAIR SPAY IT AND LET IT AIR DRY FOR LIKE 10-15 MIN. THEN LET YOUR HAIR FALL AND SPRITZ IT. FINISH DRYIG WITH A DIFFUSER AND THEN CURL ONLY THE PIECES THAT NEED IT!!!

THEN SIDE BRAID WITH THE BANGS IS JUST A FRENCH BRAID GOING ACROSS YOUR HEAD INSTEAD OF DOWN!!! IT EASY!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Joico Joiwhip Mousse is all that comes to mind in specifically mousses. You can get it at ULTA. :)

If you want to run out and pick up some products locally, I recommend trying the following:

    - Drugstore: L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel), LA Looks or Herbal essences gels, Suave naturals or vo5 conditioners, L'oreal vive pro hydra gloss for dry hair or nutri gloss for curly hair, red Cream of Nature shampoo

    - Organic/specialty store (like whole foods): Giovanni Direct Leave in condish, Giovanni Triple Tea Treat shampoo, G conditioners, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose or White Camellia Conditioners, AO B-5 Design gel

    - ULTA: Devacurl products, Biosilk rock hard gelee, MOP-c curl defining cream (They also carry drugstore products and giovanni.)

These are all good things I have used, but be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products. For hair type specific products check out these forums:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. However, the most popular ones are usually only available online.

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find reviews by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape. A leave in conditioner under gel is generally good.

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Try plopping to decrease drying time: http://www.wikihow.com/Plop-Your-Hair

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo, Curl %26amp; Shine

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls %26amp; Waves Shampoo

These are both great shampoos that are both moisturizing and will help encourage your curl power. If you have extra frizzy hair, I suggest trying either of these two products. Shampoos that encourage curls are naturally more gentle on your hair and are harder to overdo.

Dove Therapy Frizz Control Therapy Shampoo, For Rebellious, Unmanageable Hair

TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock, Curly Hair Shampoo

Here are my favorite daily conditioners. A daily conditioner should be thick and the most moisturizing possible. These are made especially for dry hair. If you have dry hair, you need moisture, and if you have naturally curly hair that is also dry, moisture is that much more important.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner, Dry or Damaged Hair

    Sunsilk Captivating Curls De-Frizz Conditioner

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner

    Deep Conditioners

Every once and a while you will need a good deep conditioner. Here are my top choices. A deep conditioner will penetrate deep inside each strand of hair which will make it smoother and softer as well as stronger. Moisturize it from deep within at least once a month.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Pure Strength Conditioning Treatment

    Treatments

A deep treatment can be used in place of a deep conditioner for extra moisturizing. A deep treatment will also add a lot more strength to your hair. Some curls can become very delicate and even worse if it is dry and brittle. A deep treatment will give it the strength, moisture, and body it needs.

    Redken Fresh Curls, Conditioner

Motions at Home Deep Penetrating Treatment

Hamadi Shea Hair Mask, Moisturizing Treatment

    Leave-in Conditioner

A leave-in conditioner is an absolute must for curly hair. Garnier is my favorite that I always use. A leave-in conditioner will allow your hair to get the moisture it needs throughout the day.

Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream, Sleek %26amp; Shine

Aussie Sydney Smooth Heat Protector + Leave-In Conditioner Spray

    Gel

These are some of my favorite gels that always keep my curls well defined and in place. They are designed for curly hair, so they won鈥檛 leave your hair stiff and sticky. They add just enough hold to keep your hair in curls, but not so much that you get crunchy, stiff curls. It leaves the bounce you love.

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel

    TIGI Catwalk Frisky Scrunching Gel

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Clearly Defined Style Holding Gel

    Mousse

Mousse is a nice alternative to gel that may help give you volume if that鈥檚 what you need. I often prefer mouse because it tends to curl a little more and keep them very soft, smooth, and bouncy.

    Curl.Life Defining System Body-Shaping Foam

Garnier Fructis Style Curl Construct Mousse, Extra Strong

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse

In my own experience and opinion, these are the best curly hair products out there. They will get you the best curls. Experiment and see what works for you.

Steps to get smooth curly hair:

Step1: Your first step begins in the shower. Wash your hair with high-quality salon shampoo, or a top drug store brand such as John Freida. Rinse.

Step 2: Condition with a moisturizing conditioner--curly hair tends to be dry and needs the extra moisture and nourishment. Rinse with COLD water, but do not rinse conditioner out fully. Leave a little in hair to help with styling and continual moisturizing.

Step 3: Towel dry hair very gently by blotting with a special moisture-absorbing hair towel. Do not ring or twist or pull on hair. Once hair is towel dried, comb it out very carefully and delicately. Getting it ';straight'; is not the goal; you just want to ensure that all tangles and kinks are out. This can be done using your fingers instead of a fine-toothed comb.

Step 4: Squeeze a dime-sized dollop of hair serum (such as John Frieda's Frizz-Ease) into your palm. Pull through hair, lightly scrunching and being sure to apply evenly across strands. Concentrate on ends, not roots. Applying serum to roots can cause greasiness.

Step 5: It's mousse time. Choose your favorite medium to light hold mousse (such as John Freida Frizz-Ease Mousse). Squeeze a very generous ball of mousse into your two palms and begin to lightly scrunch into hair. Use more than you think you may need, with your total mousse ball looking like the size of a very large apple. Make sure to distribute mousse evenly throughout curls.

Step 6: Now, squeeze a quarter to half-dollar sized amount of hair or curly hair lotion (such as John Frieda cream) into your palm. Evenly scrunch and distribute through hair, using this to twist any misbehaving ringlets or troublesome spots.

Step 7: Let hair air dry or use a diffuser on a low setting to dry curls. Do not comb or aggressively crunch hair. Lightly crunch and twist as needed thro

How to get Permed curly hair looking as if it were ironed?

I love the way my hair looks when i curl it up but i'm tired of setting my hair everyday, so i have decided to get a perm. But a home perm because of financial issues. So i was wondering how do i achieve this look? How to get Permed curly hair looking as if it were ironed?
I'm sorry to hear that financial issues are why you're doing it at home, but if you must than it can be done. Just make sure you use big enough rods. I would say purple and white. If you want to, you can call a hair school in your area, they are much, much cheaper than a regular salon. The students do all of the work and it is supervised by licensed teachers. They won't mess up your hair and it's great experience for them. Good luck and have funHow to get Permed curly hair looking as if it were ironed?
I agree go to a beauty school they do it for cheap

How can I get my hair to get curly again?

I used to have sorta straight hair when I was very little, but when I was 10 or 11 it got really wavy. At 12 I started to straighten it a lot and now at 13 it gets very little bounce or waves. How can I make it get really curly again? Naturally? How can I get my hair to get curly again?
Ok so right when you get out of the shower and your hair is not soaking but damp, take a small portion of your hair and twist it around your finger, keep it there for a few seconds, then unwind it, and do it to the rest of your hair,,,,once your hair dries it should stay like thatHow can I get my hair to get curly again?
You've damaged it very much. The best way is to cut off as much as you can, and then condition the heck out of it, like with a hot oil treatment. If you don't want to cut your hair, you can perm it, but then your hair would be so damaged that it would be practically like hay.

Maybe you could condition it, until your hair becomes healthier, and then perm it? It would be risky, but better than just plain perming it.
there isnt a way to naturally do it.

How do I get my naturally straight hair curly in not a lot of time?

I have naturally straight hair but sometimes like to change it up and do my hair curly. However, it mostly just curls at the bottom then flattens as the day goes on when I just use a curler. I also don't have a lot of time in the morning to do a lot of work on my hair. Any ideas? How do I get my naturally straight hair curly in not a lot of time?
I have naturally SUPER straight hair and I take a shower and twist my hair around a pen or pencil with wet hair and that usually curls it OR you could take a shower the day before and then when your hair is still kindda damp tie them up into braids%26lt;high%26gt; and then sleep on them the next day un-tie them and they shud be curly. scrunch it

with not alot of hair products or gells

    http://www.wikihow.com/Scrunch-Hair

    or you can

    wash your hair

and apply moose and braids your hair in to two pig tails

    and let it air sry

if you dont let it compltey hair dry it wont come out

normally i would say leave it in til tommorw moring then take it out

    the tight the more waves
Put a little bit of strong-hold mousse or gel in it while it's damp, and twist it up into a bun at the back of your head, or two, if your want tighter curls. If you're short of time, blowdry the bun(s) as best you can, or just let it dry as you're getting ready.
i would put your hair in curlers the night before. then in the morning, take the curlers out and curl over top of your curls with a curling iron. then spray a ton of hair spray and your set!!

Long curly hair, no bangs, and some cute layers in the front to frame your face would look stunning straight--something like this:

And when it's curly it'll look great as well. Like this:

    http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.co

Make sure to ask your hairstylist to do a haircut that ends up giving you some volume on top, because I know that for curly hair, hair looks best when it's voluminous and curly from the top as well.

These layers are chic and sophisticated and look good both curly and straight. What hairstyle would look good straight aswell as curly?

What is a good modern hair cut for curly hair?

I have chin length curly hair that I only straighten once in a great while. I want a really up to date unique cut. What is a good modern hair cut for curly hair?
I have curly hair myself but I keep it longer. However, I would definately like to go shorter. I would suggest getting your hair stacked in the back with shorter layers and leaving your front a little longer. Also, you could had a long side swept bang making sure not to go to short. I don't know if you color your hair, but if you highlighted the top portion of your hair and left the back under layer darker it would add some fun dimension. I hope this helps! Let me know what you decide to go with !What is a good modern hair cut for curly hair?
i have the same type of hair! try getting a modern bob that keeps the length at one side and gradually gets shorter around the back and other side. that way it will give you more of a style that you might want to straighten all the time rather than just once in a while.
I disagree with anyone who says straighten it all the time. You could either just ask the hair dresser what kind of haircut would suit your hair type and your face shape or find curly hair pictures online and bring one in and ask for that haircut!!
a bob normally works well for curly hair but you could always try looking at the styles on the web page below picture 2 0f 33

scene hair isnt usually ponytails but i have scene hair quite often hehe i like big hair... annyway...

i sometimes wear my extensions and tie my hair into a low side ponytail and my hair looks super long

then pull out some bits so i have enough hair to back comb on top, so its scene big but still ponytaild

hope that makes sense, its works for meHow can I do a scene ponytail with curly hair?
it's kind of difficult to do when you have layers, but all of the hair that's longer at the bottom, just pull it to the side you want it to be on, tie that up, then poof up your hair on the top!

i suggest if you straightened the top, then left the bottom curly, or it'll look dumb.

    good luck!

i guess take your bangs out of the ponytail ?

why don't you just wear it down

What are some good products to use on curly hair?

I have naturally curly/wavy hair and want to know what are some good products to use to make it curlier? What's better pomade, mousse, hairspray, etc.? What brands, etc.?

Thanks! What are some good products to use on curly hair?
Herbal Essences curling mousse works really well! and its not even costly, it costs under 3 bucks at walmart and makes you're hair really pretty. I have straight hair and it works pretty well, my sister has hair like yours and its brilliant on it, it relaly eccentuates the curls and make them shiny, and just put a bit of herbal essence set me up hairspray and you're good. What are some good products to use on curly hair?
There are millions of products out there, here are a few products you can try that work well, Aveda's 'be curly', I believe they have some other treatments for curly hair too, their phomolliant is good through towel dried hair, then set with a hair spray, another product you might like is Blended Beauty's Curl Quenching Conditioner. Giovanni Frizz Be Gone is good, a tiny dab will do the trick so it lasts forever, it also doesn't weigh the hair down or make it look greasy. Nature's Gate original conditiner used as a leave-in and towel off your hair then apply Kiss My Face ';Upper Management'; gel. Try plain old coconut oil too, generally it's good for your hair and improves shine, but general good condition wil help with curls, put it in before shampooing and then wash out. Generally speaking curly hair responds a lot better to oils than wavy hair does, and it will look fine if you leave some oil in, even a little olive oil should work. You can also use aloe vera gel sparingly in your curls to avoid frizz, just a very cheap tube of the stuff is fine, use it depending on how you want your hair, on wet hair for softer control, dry for more crunchy hold, also if you use it with honey it will be more crunchy, use it with cocoa butter or oil and it'll be softer.

I highly recommend the book Curly Girl, one of the best things about the book is not using shampoo, but it's not the normal 'no-poo' method that a lot of people use, instead she recommends ditching the shampoo and using conditioner alone to cleanse hair. http://www.wikihow.com/Follow-the-Curly- Basically the theory here is that shampoo strips your hair of it's natural oils, this makes it damaged and generally effects overall health, stop using shampoo and your hair is much healthier, grows faster, it's stronger, shiney, easier to manage, and for curly haired people it makes curls much better defined. One other trick that's in the book is to curl small chunks of your hair around your finger, try to look for the natural curl and work with it rather than against it, then remove from your finger and pin up your hair while it's drying with small hair clips, it takes the weight off the ends of the hair so it allows for better curls.
I would suggest ';Garnier Fructis Leave-in conditioner'; works great with curly hair. It minimizes frizz and defines curls leaving your hair feeling soft and silky.

    http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh118

Also ';TRESemme Flawless Curls'; collection works wonders for curly hair. This product is designed to control, define and enhance natural movement for a fabulous finish to curly hair. It also gives curls bounce and definition without adding extra weight, tames frizz and adds shine.

    http://www.purebeauty.co.uk/images/uploa
Try Davines Momo Fluid 5.07 ounces. It is a purple cream. It is like a drink for your hair. It really works. I have curly dry frizzy hair and this is the only thing that tamed it and made it look good curly. You can put it in your hair when you get out of the shower and leave it curly, or blow dry it. It is a little expensive (about $16) and I can only find it online, but it is WELL WORTH IT! Give it a try.
i have super curly hair naturally

all i use is garneir fructis definition gel, you put it in damp hair and finger comb it in. it keeps it from getting frizzy.

i've also had good luck with nexus, herbal essences, and tresseme products.
i have the same type of hair and all of the Garnier Fructis products work really well on my hair!
    post a picture it'll help!

What is the best hair straightener for frizzy, curly hair?

I have extremely frizzy and curly hair.

I'm looking for something under $80, so don't suggest something more expensive. (no CHIs!)

And I'm really looking for opinions from frizzy/curly hair people, not silky or straight haired people.

Thanks. What is the best hair straightener for frizzy, curly hair?
I assume you are talking about a ';FLAT IRON';...

a straightener is ( a chemical you put on hair to straighten it)

There are now a million and one brands...because of all the competition...

you now have many choices and it has brought the price WAY down...

My very first flat iron was bought in 1996 %26amp; cost $300. - - I had it brought back from England and it sucked,

my next one was $800.!!! but I was the hit of the SALON scene....everyone borrowed it everywhere I went....till it was stolen at a Photo Shoot.

Spend as much as you can because you can literally SAVE YOUR HAIR by using a better quality flat iron ( Buy one less CD this week - your hair will love you)

you need a good iron to have:

~ IONIC technology ( emits negative ions saves hair)

    ~ Ceramic heating element inside

    ~ Ceramic plates

    ~ Temp control

~ No higher than 410 Degrees

A GREAT iron has steam holes...so you can take hair from damp to dry....the moisture protects the hair.

Never Flat Iron more than one time per day.... and always use a protective thermal coating prior to use, to protect it......

The Iron's I love and most pro's use...( before all these new ones came out) are the Magic's.....I think my next one will be the GHD....but they are a bit above your price range...

you can get a GREAT Iron for $90.-$100 now......

    it blows me away........

    lucky you

you are also right.. CHI's suck

buy from a company who specializes in FLAT IRON's or electrical appliances...not one that decides to get on the wagon and come out with an iron because they think they can make a buck....

CHI comes from the company that makes BIOSILK

...Biosilk was one of the first silicone serum manufacturers ...you know those oily drops that help keep frizzy hair, NOT frizzy... but don't work that well any more! They tried making hair color and a lot of other products as well but none of them were ever any good.

http://www.LifeisaBleach.groups.vox.comWhat is the best hair straightener for frizzy, curly hair?
Solia. worth every penny. i have one my self http://www.folica.com
Well I was going to say CHI, it is the best out there.

Look for one be wella. They are cheaper, but still work great and is still on the professional line. You need one that is VERY hot!
I have straight hair but I happen to be a hair stylist. Chi is the best but if you can't go that high just go to your local beauty supply house (Sally's etc ....you probually won't get the results you want from walmart brands) and get a thermal version that is similar. Ask the Sales clerk which one is the best seller. These are some good name brands if they have any of these:

    Tourmaline

    Folica

    Rusk

    Wella

    Redken

    Ionic

    Jowel

    Equage
Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.

Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.

According to the Solia flat iron website, ';tourmaline,

a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more

negative ions than traditional ceramic irons';.( $75/85)

  • Whats the best type of mascara for naturally curly eyelashes?

I have Naturally curled eyelashes, but they are very short.

Any good brands?Whats the best type of mascara for naturally curly eyelashes?
I don't think brands make any difference what so ever.

I've bought every single mascara out there going and they're all the same.

So even the cheap ones work as well.

I would suggest a lengthening mascara.

I find that going over a couple of times more with the wand once the mascara has dried works, as i've got really short lashes as well.Whats the best type of mascara for naturally curly eyelashes?

What is the best thing to use for curly hair to have real curls and not cruchy frizz?

I want the nice soft curls that do not look like a big ball of frizz. I was told Paul Mitchell's The Cream is good. But what other options are there for cream rinses for curly hair? What is the best thing to use for curly hair to have real curls and not cruchy frizz?
I go with creams or serum and my curls are never crunchy..

I use the pantene creamWhat is the best thing to use for curly hair to have real curls and not cruchy frizz?
um... i'm not exactly sure what a cream rinse is. But, i think that the best product to use for curly hair is the TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock line. i was told by more than one hairstylist that it was the best. it really does work well, your curls look defined but not gross and crunchy. They have a whole line of products for use on curly hair, but i only have to use one, the Curl amplifier. this cost about $15. as for where to get it, it is sold at most hair stores and salons, but i go to Toni and Guy to get mine. Hope i helped!
John Frieda's Frizz Ease serum is the only thing that works for me. I also use Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner and that seems to help.

What styles can I do with shoulder length curly hair?

I have shoulder length, extremely curly, thick hair, and all I ever do to it is put it up in a pony tail! Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what else I can do with it?What styles can I do with shoulder length curly hair?
    Hairstyles:

    - Half up with a clip or hair tie. I also like putting half up in a bun with bobby pins. (They tend to not get caught on my hair.) I also love these:

    http://www.flexi8.com/

    - Side parted hair with the front section clipped to the side. I like to use little jaw clips, but bobby pins will work if your hair isn't too thick.

    - Flipped through pony tail. Put your hair in a loose pony tail. Reach up under the pony tail and separate the hair there into two sections. Use your other hand to twist the tail and then pull it through from the bottom.

    - French ponytail. Put the top section of your hair (above ears) into a ponytail. Next, put the middle into a pony. Then put the bottom into a pony. This looks less kiddy if you do it looser with pretty clips.

    - Braids and buns are simple and can disguise bad hair days. If your hair is too short for a single braid, try pigtails. http://www.wikihow.com/Braid-Hair

-French braid headband. This works for leaving the hair down or up and is quicker than a real one. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-French-Bra

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

For hair type specific products check out these forums:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

It's important to see someone who really knows how to work with curly hair. Most stylists don't get any training with curly hair in beauty school.
    try shaggy, wavy effect :

This one is easy to do. Shampoo and condition your hair. Towel dry. Apply a mousse or other styling product lightly to your damp hair to give it some texture.. While your hair is still damp, bend your head over so you're drying your hair upside down. Dry your hair with the blow dryer while using your hands to scrunch it. Once your hair is dry, throw your head back and immediately spray with silvikrin Flexible Hairspray .

How do I keep the top of my curly hair from going flat?

I have thick, heavy hair that has natural curl to it. When I let it air dry, either with product or without, the top of my head gets weighed down by the weight of the bottom and creates a horrible helmet head curl effect. Are there any products or techniques (without the use of a curling iron) i can try that will keep my whole head of hair curly? How do I keep the top of my curly hair from going flat?
Use a diffuser on the roots till they're mostly dry, use product, and flip your head upside down and use a handtowel to kind of scrunch the hair while you're diffusing. I have the same kind of hair.:)How do I keep the top of my curly hair from going flat?
Theres a product that CHI makes called helmet head it seems to work really great on me. I think its like 13 dollars for a big bottle of spray. And you can get it at any hair salon that sales CHI products or any beauty store like ULTA
I have pretty curly hair and I usually use mousse in it. Si here is what i would recommend. When you get out of the shower, do not rub your hair with the towel but scrunch it with it. add mousse (or any products you usually use) then you can let your hair air dry until it is a little damp and flip your head upside down and diffuse. I find that flipping your head upside down is a key component to this step. Your hair should have volume and pretty, not flat on the top. btw my names Holly too. haha. Good Luck!
use some curling product to help stop cause the frizzes . Trust me I have the world curliest hair which is pretty frizzy and I use the products. All different ones work for different people that is why I am not giving you the ones that I use.

How to change my hair to kind of curly hair to wavey hair?

Well i'd like to change my hair to more a wavey style at the moment, it's like flatish on the top, and curly on the sides usually above and below my ears. But i'd like to change it, 'cause it doesn't look long, but it is. (I also got like the fringe thing :p) Any help appreciated. How to change my hair to kind of curly hair to wavey hair?
Use a curly hair product and a scrunching technique when you hair is still wet. Comb out excess moisture. Then put the product on your hands and take an inch section of your hair starting from the bottom, scrunch your hair and work your way up. Hold the bunched hair for 10 seconds tight. Repeat. Use the same technique all around your hair, using a dime-size dollop of solution, larger if you have long hair. Products I like: Aveda- Be Curly Hair solution, Rusk for curly hair. However, you can try to use any curly hair product (mousse, gel, or hair cream) at your local CVS, grocery store, or Target. How to change my hair to kind of curly hair to wavey hair?
Dry your hair upside down and sleep in a loose plait.

Or smooth serum onto the ends and comb through, then leaving ina loose plait.

What's the fastest way to grow out curly hair?

I heard that conditioners with protein or some kind of seaweed help, is that true? What's the fastest way to grow out curly hair?
hmmmm its funny..because I asked a question similar to this one...and people wasnt sure on it!

good luck=)What's the fastest way to grow out curly hair?
well im not sure how to grow out curly hair, but i have some advice to straighten your hair a bit. If thats what mean? like a permneant striaghtening. it lasts about 6 months. hope thats what you asked.
Each person's hair grows at a different rate. One key thing is to keep dead ends trimmed off. Healthy hair grows faster - curly or not.

  • What would happen if I got my naturally curly hair relaxed?

I am 13 years old, and have naturally very curly hair. It goes quite frizzy and poofy when it is straightened [with a straightener], and even curlier when its wet.

My question is basically, if I did get my hair straightened, would it be poofy and frizzy, and if it got wet, would it go back to being curly?

Thanks. What would happen if I got my naturally curly hair relaxed?
It would go straight, and if you washed it, it would stay straight. It may get a little wavy, but relaxer permanently straightens your hair. What would happen if I got my naturally curly hair relaxed?
Omg, my hair is exactly like yours! My hair also gets like twice as curly when I wash it after I straighten it. And yeah, getting your hair relaxed will get it seriously damaged even more than using an iron. What kind of iron fo you have? Chi ceramic irons are the best so I would suggest you use those if it helps any. Don't use an iron one, use ceramic. I think I have an iron hair straightener and my hair gets really dry and damaged, AND it probably takes longer for me to straighten it because mines really cheap -.-

ANYWAY, if you get your hair straightened professionaly (depending on the quality and how long you would have it straightened for) it shouldn't be poofy or curly when you wash it. These things aren't cheap though, if you want your hair straight for about 6 months is gonna be about $300. Any less would range from $50 and up I guess...my estimates aren't exactly right though XD I would not suggest getting your hair straightened professionaly because it's pretty and smooth and everything while it lasts but when you wash it, it's like 3x worse than before, I've heard bad experiences too. Just use a ceramic heat iron and use a heat spray on your hair for protection before you iron it. Also when you wash you hair, try using anti-damage shampoos like Garnier fructis which makes your hair like 4-10x stronger.

    Hope I helped :)
even if you got your hair straightened, its still will be somewhat wavy when wet. At 13, I would not reccommend getting permanent chemicals on your hair. I would suggest you find the right shampoo and conditioner.

I just starting using Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and also the styling lotion (instead of gel) on my daughter who has EXTREMELY thick, spiral curls. This combination has really helped to control her hair without making it frizzy. You can by it at Walmart in the ';ethnic hair'; section. Yes, even if you are 'white' you can still use the products. You need a product that is going to work for Your texture hair! :D
its kinda a pain to have curly hair sometimes isnt it :P

but unless you get it permenantly straightened ( lasts for a few months but reeaaaalllly damages hair) it will go back to being curly when wet or if its hot and humid outside if you just use a normal straightener

i reccomend using a mousse when you dont want to straighten hair , they help reduce frizz and make curls look really nice and pretty :)
if you got your hair chemically relaxed, it will be really stright. You can take showers and whatnot and it will stay stright. You can go about every 6 monthes. unfortunatly its bad for your hair because of all the chemicals. i would suggest to wait maybe a year or two before starting that.
Instead of relaxing, I recommend working with your curls to make them beautiful rather than frizzy. Spend some time at http://www.naturallycurly.com; you'll get lots of great tips and ideas for caring for your beautiful curls!
It is very bad for you hair.

What is the easiest way to do a curly up do hiar style?

I am doing my friends hair for prom on sat. and her hiar is bout breast leagth....it goes down to her boob level. and she wants a curly up do i think i have a hint but if anyone has any good tips please help me!!!!What is the easiest way to do a curly up do hiar style?
Updo's are easy. Part the hair from one ear to the other...seperating the back from the front. Backcomb the back portion. backcombing the top of the back adds height back combing the middle adds thickness. About the time your friend starts to look like Debbie Gibson gather the hair into a loose pony and twist into a French Twist. I bobby pin the lower part of the twist and get the tiny allegator clips to secure the top part of the twist my favorite ones are the clear...holds much better than bobby pins especially at a prom. Then curl the loose ends hanging out of the twist. For the front just start pulling small curled sections to the twist and add to it. Backcome at the root whatever you need to. you can do a sidesweep by leaving the front section out of the back twist. That's why I do it like that. I hope this helps and the best updo spray I found is Redken headset 25 or hotset 22. That hair won't be going anywhere. What is the easiest way to do a curly up do hiar style?
the easiest would be to do a rollerset with green rollers and then once you take it down. pin curls where you want them, smooth sides where you want and secure, and spray a lot of hairspray... and don't forget with that much hair you must have good strong invisible hair pins..get black if her hair is dark, get copper if her hair is blonde. or you can curl it all over with a curling iron, but only if you are good at what you do...if you aren't you won't have a curl one to pin up... but if so, repeat the same steps after entire headform is curled...good luck and have fun at the prom.
Take the hair like on the top of your head (not your bangs, right behind) and do like a ';poof';. It almost looks like it's half-up/half-down. Then curl your hair like in spirals. It's really cute. I hope I explained it ok. :) Have Fun!

How to make thick curly/wavy hair grow loooonger faster?

I have thick curly/wavy hair down to where my bra sits on my back. I want my hair to grow down to my waist. I have looked up a lot of remedies and bought a few hair products that are said to do the trick. I just want to know if anybody else has found a proven method.

Please share any remedies, tricks, products or anything else that will help my hair grow longer faster! How to make thick curly/wavy hair grow loooonger faster?
Your hair is programmed to grow at about 1/2 inch per month tops. But if your body isn't properly nourished, you won't achieve that maximum potential growth. So you need to be sure to eat a well-rounded, healthful diet. You can take special vitamins, too, that make sure you're getting the right nutrients to ensure maximum growth.

Check out http://www.naturallycurly.com for lots of great info about curly, wavy, kinky and textured hair! How to make thick curly/wavy hair grow loooonger faster?
Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the

time and it makes your hair grow faster. I;d say massage it into

your scalp b/c thats going to help the roots if you just put it on

the ends, it not going to do anything to it. You can find it at

walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water

to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should

use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it.

Even hot water hurts your hair.

What products work best to leave my hair curly when wet w/out puffing up?

I have permed African American hair.In the summer I like to wet my hair and leave my hair with a curly, wet look when it comes to going to the pool, beach, water parks, etc. However, I can't seem to make a curl stay. What products work best with my situation, and what do you think is the best procedure to make my hair curl and stay? What products work best to leave my hair curly when wet w/out puffing up?
I have really curly hair. I use TRESemme' mousse. They have different kinds for like extra hold, or anti frixx, you can go to the store and find the best kind for you. Plus on the back of most of these bottles it says to put on damp hair, sooo yeah. Hope this helped.

use the vive hair suplies they have shampoo and conditioner that make your hair straight naturaly. or just use the iron but dont leave it on a spot for to longI have curly hair but i like straighten hair. What can i do to have straighten hair?
    just use the iron

youll be fine as long as you dont leave it on one part of your hair for too long....causing it to burn

    or, you can perm it
I think you should keep using a flat iron/ hair straightener because that is the least damaging on your hair. That is if you do it right. Before you do it you should spray on a heat protectant. I use Ion heat protection. This helps so that you don't damage it when you straighten it. Also make sure you use the right heat setting for your hair. (If your flat iron has a heat setting) If you have thin hair use a low setting. Medium thickness use medium and if your hair is very thick use a high setting. Hope this helps!
    You can:

use an iron, but to protect your hair from damage, spray a heat protective spray on it. go to a hair and beauty store and check out what different brands they have (i use V05)

go to a salon and get it permanently straightened

you can use a special shampoo that helps to straighten hair

or you can just love your natural hair :-)

    good luck!
if you really want it straight then get a brush and blow dry it slowly and get a hair product that is heat activated, or go to abcdistributing.com and get the true ceramic pro, give them a fake number and name, they won't make you pay, that's were i got my tcp, they just send you billing letters, which doesn't matter.........and you have to make up a business name, pretty easy!
Using an iron is the best way but if you're afraid of damaging you can buy a moisturizing shampoo and that will help, also you can buy gels and different goops to put in your hair to keep it healthy. Also you should only straighten your hair if you are going somewhere, straightening every day is bad. If you have to straighten it every day or work or whatever you should get a chi iron, your hair stays straight until you wash it, it may cost a lot, but you will get your money's worth. Also don't be ashamed of your curly hair, many people get perms so they can have curly hair. I wish I had curly hair sometimes!
Many cheapo irons will damage your hair. If you want your hair to stay healthy without you constantly cutting so much of it off and whatnot, then I suggest you get a ceramic/tourmaline flat iron. The only brand I'm going to recommend that is ceramic and has tourmaline is the SEDU. It does not damage your hair and actually makes it healthier. Even if you set the temperature to 410 degrees F (200 C). The SEDU is definitely the best there is. It did WONDERS for my hair. It made it pin straight, shiny, and silky. Order it now from www.folica.com. If you don't like it, just return it within 30 days. You can't go wrong!!!!
You need to use a ceramic iron, like Chi. Also, use a heat protecting straightening lotion like Kiehl's before you iron your hair. My hair is curly too. I wash and condition with Matrix Sleek Look and then apply Kiehl's lotion. Then, I blow dry my hair completely and then iron it. My hair comes out needle straight.
    Japenese perm
u can get a chemical relaxer. its the only other way to straighten hair. evern then u will still need to either give it a good blow dry or use that iron.
at jewel right now for 8 dollars theyre sending this mouse that makes your hair srtaiht and another that makes it curly it realy works!!i have two.

How to do a cute up-do for curly hair for an aerobics class?

I just cut my really curly hair a little lower than my shoulders. Most of my ponytails are like a Ball of bouncy curls. I want it to be cute and capable to endure an hour of step aerobics. So any suggestions? How to do a cute up-do for curly hair for an aerobics class?
do a partial french twist and let the ends hang loose while securing the french twist with a jaw clip,How to do a cute up-do for curly hair for an aerobics class?
Curly hair can be difficult to manage but it looks beautiful when put in an updo.

    just follow these steps

    # Spray your hair with hairspray. An aerosol is the best choice because it dries faster. Hair with some product in it is much easier to handle and style.

    # Gather your hair at the nape of the neck. Hold it in a loose pony tail with one hand.

    # Twist it up, bringing the ends toward the top of your head. Attach your hair with a barrette or clip. Arrange your curls on top of your head.

    # Another option is to put your curly hair into a ponytail in the middle of your head. Secure it with a hair elastic or coated rubber band.

    # Hold the end of the hair. Slowly wrap it around the ponytail into a bun. Use bobby pins to secure it in place. You may decide to leave some of the curls out and pile them on top of your head.

    # A third option is to part your hair in the desired place. Create a low ponytail to the side of your neck, leaving the top of your head with some height to it.

    # Fasten hair with an elastic or rubber band. Arrange curls by pinning them in various places, to create a ball of curls.
    hey.. its easy!

wet your hair slightly and spray with hair spray or mousse/ then scrunch your hair so it curls and wear it in a low ponytail but brush the top and leave the remaining hair curly!!

I have curly hair. My hair is as to my middle back. I've tried straighting, scrunching and french braids.I have curly hair and I run out of cute styles to wear. Can you give me some cute ideas and styles?
    ooohh! lots!

IT'S PLAYTIME FOR ME - YEAH!

for thin or fine hair, apply a thickifier (bed head has a good one that smells like grapes - yummy) and pull back a small section of hair from the temple area ( both sides ) and pin at the crown. do the same thing with little sections from behind the ear and at nape. grab the sections of hair between the pulled back ones and pull the hair out just a little ( to make an almost poof ).

if you have thick hair then use a pomade for shine.

you can put little beads in hairpins and pin in the same places as the bobby pins or do flowers (or some kind of bling) or keep it natural. it looks great either way.

this one is super easy to do yourself and looks like you spent forever doing it ( right! it takes about 5 minutes.)

pull back the top (from the ears up) and ponytail.

pull back the bottom (the rest of it) and ponytail just under the first.

each pony tail gets divided into 3 sections.

apply pomade or thickifier to one section and finger comb to get it unfuzzy. bobby pin around that section (hair inside the bobby pin) about 3 inchs from base of pony tail, twist and pin under the ponytail base. 3 more inches, one more bobby pin, twist and pin. do this for all 6 sections.

this looks great for a wedding or a more formal affair.

    time: about 10-15 minutes.

ponytail on the side of the back of the head towards the bottom. (loosely) grab tail section and twist to the opposite side. pin (under ponytail holder) into place (looks like a french twist) leave the ends out.

I have naturally curly hair, but I straighten it. Everytime I go out dancing, i start sweating and my hair starts getting curly. It looks horrible. What can I do (besides not dance) to prevent that? How do u prevent ur hair from getting curly by the end of the night?
    leave it curly.

or use a non-frizz balm or serum to smooth on your hair before you straighten and after. How do u prevent ur hair from getting curly by the end of the night?
wash your hair with sunsilk antipoof shampoo, use the conditioner and then apply the antipoof creme. dry and straighten. spray with whatever your fav finishing spray is. i have curly hair and this is the only products that really work. its in the blue bottles
Try not to sweat so much.My hair is like that too, i sweat a lot at night and my hair gets curly when it's humid. Again, try not to sweat a lot.

  • What is the best way to straighten very curly hair?

I have used a straighter iron, and I know it is not good for ur hair to go through that every day. I have also clapped the darn iron on my ear and given it a nice sized blister. :(

I am also allergic to many hair products what r some good products for people like me who can't handle many kinds of shampoos or anything like that? What is the best way to straighten very curly hair?
use a straightener that doesn't fry your hair (the temp isn't that extreme at least!). all straighteners will hurt your hair, but that's why you get haircuts. Right? Try splitting your hair in parts so you don't have to apply the heat so often. Use a leave in conditioner too and don't use an aerosal hairspray. This will help. What is the best way to straighten very curly hair?
same problem, DONT brush your hair before you straighten it, this just makes it puffy and doesnt straighten well, also wear a hat when sleeping, this makes it go smoother, sleeker and straighter, DONT get ghds really, they are only ceramic coating, after 6 months it will go and left with steel plates that damage your hair, go for corioliss, this is 100% ceramic so it wont ever wear out like most straighteners
The one and only answer ot your question is GHDs... even though they are straightening iron, you can buy products to protect your hair. I have very curly hair and live in the Middle East - the humididty is a nighmare, but GHDs help me all the way. INVEST NOW! No other iron can compete
Ive got naturally curly hair and Ive tried EVERYTHING you can imagine product and hair straightener wise. My boyfriend bought me a pair of GHD straighteners for Xmas and its the best thing ever invented my hair looks naturally straight. Look on the net for them. I paid 拢120.00 you could get them cheaper if you look around. P.s they are not so bad for your hair either.
well you can blow dry it with a handle held hair dryer it may make it frizzy but thats all i think you can brush it and put a little heat protector oil in you hair its in a bottle that clear with a white top you can gat it at walmart or target it cover is half a sphere with a flip top
If you are wanting a more permanent solution you could go to hairdressers and get it relaxed. Its like the opposite of a perm. My friend had it done and it looks lovely :)
This is how u straighten curly hair http://www.ehow.com/how_2082221_straight and u should ask ur doctor what hair product u should get
They amke flat irons and you can buy them at any beauty suppl store. the best on is the chi iron. also if you buy the iron to make your hair look smoother get some flat iron oil or spray.
get a shampoo that makes your hair straight...section your hair when it's wet %26amp; blow dry it as straight as you can..then just go over it with a straightener to get rid of excess frizz...john frieda makes a great frizz serum!
use a iron that you iron clothes with first..

like lay on the ground and brush

out your hair and straighten hair

then go and straighten it with a regular straightener
get a relaxer..or just straighten it..not much you can do!! just use a heat protectant before you straighten to help your hair!
get a reallllly big straightner my friend has the curliest hair everrrrrr and when she straightens it its soooooo gorgeouss. or get one of your friends to help you
Hun you have like no options... Use a straightner also shower and brush ur hair down straight and make it super wet
    tigi bed head
u should use a straigthner that works with wet hair or an earth friendly hair product

What would be the best mousse for my curly hair?

I've tried Pantene Pro-V, Garnier Fructis, Matrix, and Tresemme brands. Tresemme works fine so far but sometimes the muggy weather beats it (I live in South Florida). I used to use gel but I hate the crunchyness. Any other suggestions to beat the frizz and keep the natural softness? Thanks! What would be the best mousse for my curly hair?
Its called ';Got 2 B Full of yourself'; Hair mousse. Great for curly and wavy hair. What would be the best mousse for my curly hair?
    matrix
    aussie
i use 3-in-1 its a white and purple bottle...it works and it smells really good
Mousse is crunchier in my hair, so I use Garnier Fructis curl defining spray gel in strong hold.

What is the best product to use with a flat iron for shine and straightening curly hair?

I use a metropolis flat iron and I blow dry my hair straight first. I can never get it to smooth out to look like it does at the salon. What is the best product to use with a flat iron for shine and straightening curly hair?
Depending on how much hair you have and how long it is, use a little BioSilk serum. Start with a nickel size drop in your palm and rub your palms together and then distribute it evenly all over your hair. It pretty much stays on your hands until you wipe it off or rinse so you can run your fingers repeatedly through your hair to get it on all the strands. Put it on before you blow dry and you might want to put a tiny bit more on before using the flat iron.

BioSilk is expensive but worth it and it lasts a long time. You can find it in most beauty salons or at the Walmart beauty salon. It also smells wonderful.

Another good product that smells good is Tresemme thermal creations heat tamer protective spray (black %26amp; red bottle). It works pretty well and helps protect the hair. What is the best product to use with a flat iron for shine and straightening curly hair?
If you put your comb in front of your flat iron while your straightening it will get it bone straight. You may have to slow down a little but you will get the results you want, and as for products try sleek look by matrix. It is designed for people that straighten their hair. The shampoo and conditioner prepare your hair for straightening and the sleek iron smoothing spray before ironing and your hair will stay strong and healthy.
For after its best if you use biosilk silk therapy...It works really good and makes your hair look naturally silky and smooth.
