I bought a pretty little curly leaf purple sage and now it is starting to turn green? What causes this?

I keep it inside and it gets morning sun thru the blinds. It appears healthy otherwise. I wait til it dries before watering, as I've learned most herbs don't like too much water.I bought a pretty little curly leaf purple sage and now it is starting to turn green? What causes this?
Probably not enough sunlight - herbs generally LURVE sun and variegated/coloured leaf plants will revert to green if they don't get enough.

Place in the sunniest site possible. Remove the green leaves, but, if ALL the leaves are green, remove only a third and, as new purple ones appear, remove the same number of green ones, until the plant is all purple again.

Is it possible to straighten curly hair without a straightening iron or InStyler?

I've tried to straighten my hair with a straight iron, and yes, it gets it pretty straight, but it's more like straw, not silky. I wanted to get the InStyler, but I found out it costs more than I thought, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips?Is it possible to straighten curly hair without a straightening iron or InStyler?
I don't know if you are using a hair dryer but you can put in a silicone based hair straightener and use a round brush to blow out the curls. It can be tiring on the arms and hands but you can get used to it after a while. The silicon will help to protect the hair, but it's still a dry, damaging affect.

Of course, the only other solution would be to try setting/wrapping lotions or brazilian keratin treatment which you can buy on ebay and will leave your hair straight and healthy for 3 months. Is it possible to straighten curly hair without a straightening iron or InStyler?
It depends if the straightner you used was really old and used or new.

If it is new and fairly good, i don't know why it turns out like straw. You should spend about 30 to 40 dollars for a good straighner.

An old straightner might have gross buildup on the plates from being used a lot. To clean the buildup, hold the iron steady in one hand and scrape the plates hard back and forth until the plates are noticeably smoother and there is nasty-looking red stuff on the knife.
you can try a round brush and blow dry you hair straight initially then use a flat iron to smooth it all out.....I recommend putting a dab of paul Mitchell skinny serum ($15) on wet hair before blow drying and straighting, t will keep it from getting horribly damaged....also buy a Good straightener like and ion or chi straightener.
Don't get the instyler. I just got it like 2 days ago. Yeah it works okay but it doesn't get my hair super straight, and doesn't leave it shiny like it says. Also it makes my hair super frizzy! Im sending mine back.
the iron is the only other thing you can use to straighten your hair if your not going to buy a straighter or instyler
You could also straighten it with the blow dryer and some brush that is shaped like a cylinder. I've seen my aunt do that and she has pretty much curly hair.
well try combing it aftr you straighten it, it makes my hair so much more soft...and i think you can get ur hair permently straightened at a hair salon... but other than that i dont know..hope that helped
Well you can get like this blow dryer product and spray in your hair when wet and it blow drys straight also get the maximum streanth one
just get the instyler. it is worth it. stop trying to be so cheap. that will never get you anywhere. Invest in an instyler.
the only thing u can do is straighten ur hair ...........u can use ceramic plates

one .

i use infiniti hair straightener by conair and i do it every thursdays its nice try buyin it
you can use a iron for clothes on really low , maybe you need a relaxer .
definetly not.

What is the best product to use in order to keep hair curly for a long period of time?

My hair does not like to stay curled, I was wondering if there was a mousse or a spray that I could use to help it stay curly. But not something that is going to make my hair hard and crunchy. What is the best product to use in order to keep hair curly for a long period of time?
redkin has a product called hot sets you spray it on before you curl it with a iron. What is the best product to use in order to keep hair curly for a long period of time?
Hello spoiled pink,

It鈥檚 essential to properly condition long curly hair with a top-quality conditioner in order to comb through it without causing breakage and damage. A top-quality conditioner is also helpful in preventing frizzy hair. Find a couple of different brands of hair conditioners that work well for your particular hair type, and alternate them often. When the same conditioner is used continuously, it sometimes stops working to its full potential. Keep in mind you don鈥檛 have to use the same brand of conditioner and shampoo. Many people think they have to use the same brand, but if you find a conditioner for your long curly hair that you like, use it with whatever brand of shampoo you prefer.

How would side bangs with curly hair look?

I have really curly hair and i want bangs. I would straighten them but i dont know if it would look weird with curly hair. Or do you have another idea that sounds better because I want bangs. I do not want to straighten my whole hair. Do you have another other ideas? Pictures of some actor or some person with curly hair and bangs? How would side bangs with curly hair look?
I think curly and straight bangs look great, but the best would be straight. Still, curly's good but straight is a little better. How would side bangs with curly hair look?
If I had a picture I would show you, but that's how my hair is cut now! I have super super curly hair and I had side bangs cut into it a little less than a month ago? I'm not sure. But my stylist cut them long instead of the really short ones, and now I can wear them curly or straight. It looks great, I love it, I get so many compliments on.

In short, go for it! It's super cute and versatile!
I do this! I use a blow dryer and then straighten! Here's mine:

I straighten my hair then about an hour later it starts going curly/wavy.

How can i stop this from happening?

Is there a way?How to stop hair going curly Just after straightening it?
what hair straightener are you using? this is very important. i recommend the chi hair straightener. your hair will stay straight. also, use the right shampoos %26amp; conditioners. all for straightening hair. find some sprays, creams, serums to help keep your hair straight.

i recommend this website: www.folica.com look around, they have tons of products for hair and lots of reviews. find something that works for you.

good luck! :]How to stop hair going curly Just after straightening it?
before you straighten it use a hair serem that is made to be used with hair straighteners. then use a hair spray after straightening it that will leave your hair soft not crunchy
Maybe you have a really crappy hair straightener,

either that, or dry putting LOTS of shine spray in your hair

(making it slightly oily) and then straighten it.
i would recommend either getting a ceramic curling iron or trying some of the following hair products:

    got 2b crazy sleek {its a spray}

got 2b tipsy spray also works good

    bio infusion OR biosilk

it would also help if u makes sure that your hair is completely dry before u straighten it or the moisture will just turn to frizz right away.

john frieda also has some good products.
If you live in a high humidity area there may not be anyway. Try using products that contain Dimethicone - it helps seal the cuticle layer of the hair and repel moisture.
    OiL SHEEN!!!...THAT HELPS ME!!
use a ceramic flat iron, and stay away from WATER/HUMIDITY.
use hair spray lol thats the onl way i know. or you could use hair gel
STAIGHTEN IT FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME
Get a leave-in conditioner.Blow dry your hair using a round soft brisle brush.

How to get curly hair to stay curly till Monday?

I just got it curled and highlighted and i want to know how to get it to stay curly when I wake up. I know it might get messed up when I go to bed but is there any possible way to get it to stay curly when I wake up. I just got it done and I want it to stay curly for school on monday and Im getting so frustrated that its gonna get messed up before monday. Any tips? How to get curly hair to stay curly till Monday?
That means you'd have to go like 2-3 days without taking a shower.

Here's an idea. Just wind your hair and pin it up before you go to bed. In the morning when you go to take the bobby pins out, it will be curly.

It worked for me anyways. Hope it works for you.

Good luck! How to get curly hair to stay curly till Monday?
try applying hairspray before you go to bed. also, wrap your hair with a wrap/scarf. In the morning curl it a little more, and whala!

    Hope it works
Satin works wonders! And be sure not to run your hands through your hair use a brush or anything like that as it will wreck the curl.
Take sections and wind them up.Then pin them to your head with bob pins. You should be able to save it.
get a satin pillow case.. :o)

What to do with natural curly hair that is going straight?

On the top of my head it is curly in the middle it is straight and at the ends of my hair it is curly again, it use to be really curly but now it seems to be gross, what can I do to make it all curly again? What to do with natural curly hair that is going straight?
It sounds to me like your hair is getting longer and the weight of your hair is actually straightening it out. You see the ends don't have enough weight and the top rests on your head but the middle carries it's own weight and the ends as well. If you want to keep all of you hair and keep it curly you are going to have to use a curl activator type gel and a stronger mousse or gel to keep it that way throughout the day. What to do with natural curly hair that is going straight?

    I also have relaxed hair.

If you're looking to keep you hair in a sort of maintained curl, try sunsilk curl moose... it works well for me.

Sally's beauty supply also has Alot of different brands that work well for woman of color.

Try asking someone there. What are some good wavy/curly products for an african american girl?
Look up the ouidad line of hair products online. They are the absolute best for all kinds of curly hair! You'll love them! I haven't used anything else since I found these. They are all natural, very moisturizing and have lots of vitamins. Check them out.

If you don't have a ouidad salon near you, you can buy them online or once in a while, they put them on the home shopping channel.

What hair product should i use on curly hair?

Ok, I have slightly curly hair (it gets worse if i let it get long) so i keep it short. At the moment i use gel and i spike my hair up.I put it on in the morning and all the spikes look straight. But after like 2 hours into the day all the spikes go curly.

So is there a product that i can put on my hair that will keep my hair the way i style it in the morning? What hair product should i use on curly hair?
    Yeah.

1st try- using a shampoo that Straightens Hair.

2nd try- using the Axe gels, they look promising. (maybe look for one with maximum hold.)

On this site, there is a ';Spiked up look'; with the product.

How do you get poofy curly hair to become soft and wavy?

If I get out of the shower and towel dry my hair and then let it air dry, it becomes poofy and frizy(even when I use friz/shine serum) and when I clow dry it, well I look like a lion. How can I get it to be wavy w/o being poofy? How do you get poofy curly hair to become soft and wavy?
I wash mine at night, run serum/anti-frizz through it, let it dry over night, then without brushing it the next morning, I just use a large barrel curling iron on it. Looks wavy and smooth all day, and the next. How do you get poofy curly hair to become soft and wavy?
Well, I guess I am not the only one. I have to sometime re wet my hair and put a bit of conditioner on it which I leave in which works well unless it gets too long. Then you may look into a relaxer product.

    Hope this helps.
wow well my method was to destroy it with straightners no more poofyness for me :D but that would damage your hair
When you towel dry your hair, do not rub. Blot the excess moisture out of your hair as rubbing roughens the hair cuticle leaving the hair frizzy. Also try the John Frieda hair products for curly/wavy hair. It is the best I have ever found to fight frizzies.

When you blow dry, use a de-fuser on cool air, as the heat and movement of the air causes the frizzies.

    http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/produ
Whenever I let my hair dry in a ponytail it always dries wonderfully. It doesn't poof out as much as when I leave it down and either blow dry it or air dry it.
Try using a little bit of gel if you don't really want a strong hold. Don't towel dry it or blow dry it. Apply some gel to your wet hair and let it air dry. Use some of the frizz serum too! It should help. And if you want a stronger hold, you can try mousse too! Suave makes a really good mousse for curly hair. It's called Healthy Curls. You should definitely give it a try.
It is best to use products designed for curly hair. Use plenty of conditioner. Trying using a regular conditioner and then use a leave-in conditioner. I love Aveda's ';Be Curly'; cream. I use Be Curly I then use Herbal Essence Mousse for curly hair. I then dry my hair with a diffuser. If you are lucky, letting it air dry will produce the softest curls.
Oh my god, this is exactly me......so first, take a shower, and take a good shower because you wouldn't be washing it again for a week. I know it sounds weird, but it works. After you wash your hair really good and it drys really well, you straighten it with hair straighten and every day for a week you keep straightening it and straightening it and straightening it and actually the longer you keep doing that and doing that, even more than a week if you can, your hair will eventually get used to it, so when you shower the next time, your hair will be soo changed, you would not even recognized it...IT worked for me!!!!
    get a curly perm
I likewise have poofy curly hair. What i find really helps is when im taking a shower i put in regular conditioner, but dont rinse it out when im done. Then when i get out i do NOT towel dry it because when you rub the hair it creates friction and it turns your curls into frizz. So instead i take a paper towel and just lightly blot the ends. I find that leaving the conditioner in helps to define the waves and it creates a nice shiny soft look.

    hope this helps!

  • How do i get my curly hair to cooperate?

i got my hair permed last augest and it is still about as curly as it was then. But now it wont work with me. It will be curly in some places and not as much in others. I have really thick hair so it is hard to work with anyway. How can i get it to curl good and not fall out durring the day? also, how can i straighten it without it being wavy in places? How do i get my curly hair to cooperate?
For my sons hair which is naturally very curly I use Matrix curl life. It is fantastic. I use the shampoo and conditioner, then the curl cream. It last forever we've had the current bottle 8months and he washes everyother day. It takes a very small amount. How do i get my curly hair to cooperate?
    awww...ive always wanted curly hair!!!
Use mousse. After takeing a shower I would take a shower before school and then put the mousse on if you sleep with it it will hurt when you comb it best of luck
after a shower use stay-on conditioner.

if u have a heat iron use that.

Any tips on how to get my hair to curl and stay curly?

I have naturally wavy, thick hair and whenever I try to curl it, using a curling iron, it just plain never works. I've been told to straighten my hair beforehand, but that doesn't seem to do anything either.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make it curl and stay that way?

Thank you in advance.Any tips on how to get my hair to curl and stay curly?
get a perm i had hair like yours and then i got a perm iw was awesomeAny tips on how to get my hair to curl and stay curly?
i scrunch my hair with curl enhancing stuff and then use a diffuser to dry it
My hair never stays curly, but I finally found a product that does. I don't have it anymore, otherwise I'd tell you what it was called. But Sally's has the greatest products, and you can ask the workers there about the best products. The products there are those that stylists use in salons, so you know that they're good quality and actually work.
Use a small 1'; curling iron (don't straighten it before hand or it won't curl because you already straightened it). you can put hairspray in beforehand and then curl it or you can curl it then pin the curl and after it's cooled take it out and use hairspray. I have really thick hair also (my stylist says I have 600 pounds ;-]) and this seems to work for me but it takes a long time. THE RESULT IS WELL WORTH IT!
I do not think that it can be done.

Be happy with the way your hair is or be ready to price to have it curled again and again forever.
I usually dont have much of a problem with this cuz my hair is relatively easy to curl, but these tips might help!!!

    1.) strighten it first

2.) use some mousse and brush it out

3.) curl your hair using a hot curling iron and hold it for a little

    longer but not too long!!!

4.) spritz on some hairspray and try not to run around so it wont fall out :)

or you could spray on a lot of hairspray then sleep in curlers if that doesn't work good, try wetting your hair with water and frizz ease, putting in curlers, steaming it (there's a special shower cap like thing that steams it for you) for about half an hour and then blow drying it before you take out the curlers.

If all fails, try getting a perm. i got one last year and it stayed in for about half a year!!!

    Good Luck!!!!

    Amiera
I think that a perm could be the only answer for you even if you have some natural curl. But before you get the perm to make sure it is what you want you could roll all of your hair in perm rods and let it dry and this would give you an idea as to how it would look. Not exactly though but a bit of an idea. My hair was straight and stringy and would never hold a hot iron curl for more than a few hours, even roller sets tend to fall out, so I got a spiral perm and love it. I can leave it in spiral curls or blow it out a bit and just have loose waves, set it and have really sexy large curls that last all day and into the evening. If you get a perm ask around and get a stylist that will do a great job. Good luck.
The only advice I can give you is let the curling iron get super hot, and then hold your hair in it for a loooong time. I have naturally thin, straight hair, and it's hard to style as well. For me, it takes forever to do my hair into curls.

How do I keep my curly hair from knotting?

After taking a shower I blowdry my hair straight. Sometimes I curl it with a curling iron. For the first like 2 hours after curling it, my hair is fine. But if I curl my hair at like 2pm and get home from work at 9:30pm..my hair in the back is like one big knot. [I have to put it half up/half down for work] Is there like any way I can make my curls stay? How do I keep my curly hair from knotting?
Sounds to me like you are having a major problem with frizz control, static control, and split ends.

But I may be jumping ahead of myself. What products are you using? May I recommend you try Pantene's line for Curls, they are the best shampoo and conditioner products on the market, and reasonably priced.

So lets say you wash your hair, you want to make sure you use shampoo and conditioner meant for curly hair, as curly hair needs extra moisture to lock in the curl. Then you will want to put a leave-in conditioner in (after you regularly condition) that is meant for curl lock. Comb it through, gently. Gently is the key word, never rake through your hair, it will only create more problems for you later on, I call this Hair Karma.

After that, you will want to buy 1-2 more products, depending on your hairs needs. Ideally, your leave in conditioner shouldnt be a 'spray'; it should be more of a balm/gel, because then you wont have to buy another ';curl locker';. But if not, then buy a seperate curl locker gel, apply enough to go through your entire hair...Even though the labels say a 'dime size', I always use 'quarter size' but i have thick hair, so I need more than the thin dime that others may use.

Now, youre almost set.....so you have all these ingrediants, go ahead and style as usual. Have a ';curl hairspray' in hand, and spray your hair when its almost dry, and then finish curling again (I call this re-curl), this will ensure the curl is locked in completely.

Now, what happens if this happens and still you have problems with knotting?

Well then you need to assess the damage to your hair. Hair needs to be trimmed on a regular basis, but curly hair is no exception. Make sure you get 1/2 inch trimmed every 6 weeks, dont skimp. This will lop of the dead ends.

Also, have you looked into getting a slight layer put into your hair, not an all-over layer ala Jen Anniston of Friends (Not the 'Rachel'), but a slight 'crown layer' that eliminates heaviness that a blunt cut of curls will give to your head. By giving a slight fringe to your back, it will really make a difference in how your hair 'sets' and 'lays' throughout the day.

Again, are you using an anti-frizz and/or anti-static spray/gel? If the problem is related to dampness/moisture, as it may sound like if your hair is perfectly healthy, then you will want to invest in a good anti-frizz gel.

Another point to consider: your diet. It sounds trite, but your hair really is a direct response to your diet and lifestyle. Hair is dead, the hair root is alive. But the hair root is underneath the skin in the dermal layer. The visible portion, the hair shaft, is just dead keratin cells.

So when you have an unhealthy lifestyle and/or diet, you will always see it in the hair shaft. Yes hair is dead, but when it was living in your root, it was being subjected to your state of health, so thus when it grows, you can really see how improper your nutrition may be.

Drink plenty of water, but dont drink excessive amounts. 64 ounces a day, no more.

Make sure you are getting adequate amounts of proteins and leafy greens in your diet.

Also, try taking Biotin, it is a wonderful vitamin supplement for healthy hair.

I hope the tips I have offered are of some assistance. How do I keep my curly hair from knotting?
    Use LIVON
Good question. You should try buying Redken Glass. All you need to do is put around a dime-size of this in your hair before the curling iron or blow dryer and it'll keep your hair smooth and absolutely know free. It's fantastic. I have had long hair for years and it keeps my hair so nice. Good luck!
    use leave in conditoner

How Can I Scrunch My Curly Hair With Gel Without It Hardening?

I have natural curly hair but I still have to put Gel in it in the mornings so that it doesn't frizz or go out of control. However when I put Gel in my hair it hardens and makes my hair stiff and dry - not bouncy and natural. How can I avoid this? How Can I Scrunch My Curly Hair With Gel Without It Hardening?
DesignLine by Regis Curl Lock Scrunching Spray.

Turn your head upside down, spray, and scrunch.

I have curly/ frizzy hair and this stuff gives me light, natural curls without the frizz and hardness.

I've tried a TON of products and this has worked best for me. You can find it online or at most salons/ places you go specifically for hair cuts.

Also try putting your hair in a loose bun when it's still damp. Put it at the nap of your neck because if you put it at the top, you'll get a bump. How Can I Scrunch My Curly Hair With Gel Without It Hardening?
Try using something else besides gel! When i decide to scrunch my hair i take a shower the night before and i put a little moose (got-2-be scrunching moose) and scrunch it. Then i wait for it to dry and i take two pieces of hair and twist them together and put a pony holder at the end of it. I do that with all of my hair then i put hairspray in it (aussie scrunch hair spray). I sleep with it like that. Then when i wake up i take out the twists and put more hairspray in it and scrunch it with the hairspray just a little and thats it. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it really is not that bad at all!
I have the same problem. What I do to make it not crunchy is I let my hair dry half way first, then put it in my hair, then use the blowdryer on low heat and wrap my hair in a loose bun on top of my head for 5 min, then shake my hair out. Sounds strange I know, but it works. I also wouldn't use gel, use mouse, it's a lot better for curly hair.
    i have the same thing

i use Aussie's gel and u have to scrunch it in when its wet, not like you would with a leave in conditioner.

it'll be mostly natural, but u will have some parts of it where its not hard, but it feels like it, but otherwise it looks 100% natural.

    :]
When I use gel, what I do is when the hair is drying, and the hair gel starts to get crunchy, just *keep* scrunching and squeezing the parts that are hardening as it's drying. It sort of ';breaks up'; the hardening parts. If you keep up with it, it will wind up soft.
Try useing a product from the Rekin hair line called ringlet, it makes the curls soft but flexible, and is hummity resistant and also it doesnt make your hair hard at all. I would no this product because I use it and I love how it makes my hair feel.
there are many products out that will control friz with out the stiffness. go to your nearest Sally beauty supply store in your area. the staff there will be happy to help you find the right product for your hair. to find the nearest sallys near you go to sallybeauty.com good luck and hope this helps
I use aussies scrunch spray.... get the flex hold and it's scrunched but not hard.... spray a little all over when it wet then flip your head upside down and blow dry on low heat for a few min then spray it in again and blow dry again
    thats imposible

    just Dont use gel

    use this stuff called

    Spray gel

(cheap kind, its in a green spray bottle)

    workx for me!

    ;]
When I scrunch mine it seems to be better with mousse. Mousse also seems to give my hair more body than when I use gel.
Try Aussie leave in conditioner + mousse tha's what I use cause I hate stiff hair, and it is really good for your hair.
mix your gel with ';olive oil';, comes in a green jar in hair section, not grocery section--is fab. i do this everyday

How can you straighten naturally curly hair?

I straighten my hair at night and then in the morning I straighten it again but during the day it starts to curl again. It won't stay straight and I don't have any kind of serum or anything else. How can you straighten naturally curly hair?
I have a couple of questions to try and help:

1-what state do you live in? Humidity plays havoc or a lot of rain.

2-what kind of straightening iron do you have?

I've learned less product is better for straightening hair. The more product you use, the faster your hair will get dirty (then having to repeat straightening).

Use a leave-in conditioner, then a heat protecting cream. I use L'Oreal Nature's Therapy - Heat Control %26amp; Aveda - Hang Straight Straightening Lotion. *Neither of those are leave-in conditioners, but the combination is good (I'm out of leave-in and haven't looked for a replacement for the discontinued brand).

Gloss Drops (a little goes a long way) help a little with some flyaways and keeps the hair looking healthy/shiny.

Also straightening/sleek types of shampoo %26amp; conditioner might help with control.

    So step by step

    1-wash %26amp; condition hair.

    2-towel dry, apply product.

3-blow dry straight with a natural bristle paddle brush (very important tool). Your hair might be ';fro'; like when done, don't panic.

3-flat iron hair, using as much pressure as you can (but don't rip your hair). A lot of heat and a lot of pressure is what keep curly hair pin straight.

    Flat Irons:

I have a Sedu Ceramic. It was not cheap but it is phenomenal. Bought mine online. I've heard CHIs are overrated. I like the results from FHI irons used at an Aveda School.

Always use a real ceramic iron, never gold plated.

The only inexpensive ($60-$70) good iron I know of is made by Generic Value Products, you get them from Sally's Beauty.

I like GVP ';paul mitchell'; products. GVP deconstruct salon products to re-make them more affordable. They are the same as the salon products, no quailty of ingredients lost.

Hope this HelpsHow can you straighten naturally curly hair?
I use a hair-straightener, http://bit.ly/WS3Yk is the best hair-iron I have ever come across, leaves my hair silky and wavy, just the way I want. Try it, its the best iron in the market.

ugh i hate that i feel your pain... but i have found a mousse that i love. it is Herbal Essence ';totally twisted'; curl boosting mousse.

it is in a purple can.

it only take a little and it goes a long way. i usually put it in while my hair is a little damp and it does the trick.

i hope this works for you =)How do I control my curly hair with out using pounds of gel?
I have natural curly hair and I absolutely hate it, but I already went the route of relaxing it and perming it, but finally decided...';if you can't beat it...then join it';. Now I don't have to futz with it, I just wash it and put a leave in conditioner and then use a dab of a type of ';frizz ease'; and that's it. Nice and soft and natural looking without all the futzing and fighting to control what's already deemed out of control.

    Hope this helps!!!!!!

How come some peole have naturally straight hair and others have naturally curly hair?

is this because of the shape of the holes in your head or is it because of your hormones or where you live. I dont understand why everyone is born with different kinds of hair and sometimes your hair gets wavier or curlier as you grow. Can someone tell me why that is and does anyone know how to make your hair a little more naturally straighter? How come some peole have naturally straight hair and others have naturally curly hair?
it is to do with the angle your hair growth root there is no indefinate way to permanently striaghten your hair just with hair straightners make sure you use heat protection cream or at the hairdressers which you need to keep gettin your roots done any wayHow come some peole have naturally straight hair and others have naturally curly hair?
    GENETICS, babe!
its because you have different types and thickness of hair and also how you treat it can be a factor.
It's all to do with different genes ♥
    ya, its because ';of the shape of the holes in your head';

i learned it in science class last year.

genetics does have somethin to do with it, tho.

theres not really any way to do that, except for a chemical straightener. you can get it done at most salons...
    genetics. chromosones. etc.

    ask a science teacher.
GENES. But, my father and mom, and my sister have EXTREMELY curly hair, and so did I, until my first haircut, which turned like a straight wave.

How do i go from curly hair to beachy waves?

I have really curly hair, but i want beachy waves, any tips? How do i go from curly hair to beachy waves?
This might sound odd but it works for me..... When you get out of the shower.... with wet hair.... add straightening serum. Then either lightly blow dry or allow to dry naturally and put in a soft bun while it dries completely. That will help avoid frizzies. Like I said, that's what works for me but all hair is different. Seriously, just experiment. Use an entire Saturday to just wash and dry and play with it. Pamper yourself.... it's fun. :)How do i go from curly hair to beachy waves?
When you get out of the shower blow dry it straight or flat iron it. Then put a little sea salt spray in it and scrunch it up a little. Not too much or it will just remember it's curly personality. You may be able to get away with just spraying it a little and shaking your head upside down. If it gets a little too curly run your fingers through it.

How well does the Kinky Curly or Curly Q hair products line work for you?

I am transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I have heard about Kinky Curly and Curly Q products, but I want to know how it works for other people with natural hair. The brand's products include a custard, milkshake, moist curls moisturizer, etc. If you have any review or any helpful hints for use of the products, it would be appreciated. How well does the Kinky Curly or Curly Q hair products line work for you?
I have transitioned from a texturizer back to natural or flat-ironed hair. I have a lot of hair which is coarse wavy-curly and I had used kinky-curly products before but had not used curly q and never heard of it. here are my reviews for the kink-curly products:

    1) shampoo: very light smell. this is a great natural cleanser. no sulfate which is also great. this is best to use if you put any kind or all kinds of hair styling product on your hair and scalp. cleanses all ';hair gunk'; completely out of your hair and scalp. The only con of this product is that it make your hair squeaky clean, rough and dehydrated. I apply redken's smooth down shampoo to soften and hydrate after it.

    2) conditioner: this is a awesome detangler. nice fruity smell. works great with curling custard for elongated curls. You can rinse-out or leave-in. I rinse-out because of my hair being coarse and curly and wavy, I mix redken's smooth down conditioner with it, put a plastic cap and sit for 15-20 mins. then rinse-out thoroughly. both conditioners smooth down my curls and waves.

    3) curling custard: I know that each person has different hair textures but there are pros and cons about this product. Pros: Makes very nice curl definition, adds shine, pleasant smell. Cons: dries out hair second day leaving my hair very crunchy, dry and brittle. have to apply water to hair everyday to keep curls along with custard- not good because water along with the custard will continually dry out hair and scalp. the more hair you have, the more heavy it will feel with custard applied. **Only use this product if you do ';wash n' go';** on the daily.

    4) pomade- no use. i sort of wasted my money on this. it stated it is supossed to go good with the custard and to apply it on second day to keep curls and sheen. but it does nothing at all. Great cuticle conditioner for my nails and skin though! I don't have the spiral spritz because I don't use spritzes on my hair except if I have wisps or bangs. And the tonic I didn't need because my texture didn't change at all after the texturizer grew out. Well, I am done here and I hope this helps your hair journey! ** God Bless**

  • What is the best hair diffuser for curly hair?

My hairs already curly but I want a diffuser to make it curl properly. Which make would you say is the best? What is the best hair diffuser for curly hair?
I'm not sure what you mean by diffuser... but this is what I do...

    Wash

    Condition

Scrunch with Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless, leave-in, antifriz serum.

    Scrunch with mousse

Run a blow drier on low or medium for a minute or so to get some of the underside dry (my hair is really thick). If you blowdry longer it wil get poofier.

    Let it air-dry.

Hope that helps. What is the best hair diffuser for curly hair?
Whatever you use, try adding a styling prodcut like Mixed Chicks leave-in on wet hair right before you diffuse. Good luck.
hello - i have curly hair , and yes , sometimes it takes on a mind of it's own. I dont use a diffuser , i use a regular dryer , but a do use a few chemicals , and i will tell you what i do. while in shower , is use Garnier Leave in Conditioner for Curly hair (green with purple writing). Then I let towel sit on my head while I apply my make up. Then I apply little Garnier '; Hard Curl'; gel (in clear-ish tube) - enough to run through all hair litely. then i use L'oreal spray gel ';Tightly Wound'; (Studio bottles - they are black) and i quickly / lightly spray all over head. then i kind of just push all my hair back with my hands, go about getting dresses , take my time, put shoes on... let hair dry more....some of it will actually get that hardness to it, like it has dried hard due to gel, but i promise... that will go away. Then , when hair is just little damp , i blow dry upside down, BUT NEVER LET HAIR DRYER STAY IN ONE SPOT.... keep it moving(and don't put real close to head). then when pretty dry , turn it to LOW.... then you can do your fine tuning / styling. i also may spritz that L'oreal spray gel , here and there , if i see little spotz of frizz. it makes it go away...no kidding. just be sure to spray it lightly , or you'll end up with the wet look . Then i use Aussie SPRUNCH hair spray (purple bottle ) ,and when i style , i GENTLY hold curls from bottom starting scrunching moving upward, close to my head GENTLY squeezing. this SHOULD give you pretty , loose , bouncy curls....if it doesnt.....i am sorry...i tried . (i know it seems like alot of stuff , but after years of HATING my hair , i am finally happy with my curls)
depends where u live. i live in the uk and use mark hill anti-frizz i have really out of control thick and curly hair and it really helps..x
any hairdryer really but i use Vidal Sassoon and also make sure you use a good anti frizz serum....
i would use a soft one from new wave or something
Well you are on the right track because a diffuser makes curly hair look so much better. you can actually dry it!

i suggest any vidal sasoon or conair blowdryers. its even better if they are 'ionic'

What is the best and healtiest and more natural way to straighten curly hair?

I have naturaly curly hair. But here is the thing it is not completely straight it is in the middle or straight, which some would say is wavy but it is not the pretty wavy. I m a really natural person so i would like a way to straighten my hair in the most natural way. What is the best and healtiest and more natural way to straighten curly hair?
I have curly hair too. First you should air dry your hair, then use a straightener. It's not the most natural way but it gets the job done. Maybe try a straightening serum. Victoria's Secret is a good one to try.

:)What is the best and healtiest and more natural way to straighten curly hair?
sorry but there is no healtiest way to. its going to burn your hair anways. but you can try the chi or something. but its pretty expensive, but from what iv heard it works pretty well. so you should try it, but yeah no matter what there is no way to straigthen your hair, and not burn it and ruin it.

You should be able to use the straightener at a cooler setting with less pressure or with a quicker run through. However this should work to

    Wash your hair.

Lightly towel dry only enough to not drip like crazy.

Then apply a lose holding gel (spray will work but not as well)

Brush the gel through while still wet and then let dry naturally.

My mother has curly hair and this has worked a few times but it honestly depends on how thick your hair is and also the texture of it. Many curly haired people have very very thick hair. My mother does not.

How can i get my curly hair to curl like Taylor Swifts?

I have curly shoulder length brown curly hair. I was wondering if there is anyway i can get mine to look like Taylor Swifts.

Thanks! How can i get my curly hair to curl like Taylor Swifts?
There are a couple sites you can check out:

    http://www.hair.becomegorgeous.com/celeb

Youtube videos really help, since you can actually see what they're doing instead of having to read about it step by step.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz4Giq66d

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWQR4Snu-

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-v9w0Cm4

The only thing is that most of these sites are for people with straightish hair, and what I do to get tighter curls (I have naturally curly hair too) is this:

    1. If your hair is greasy, wash it.

    2. Add a curling gel or spray that will help hold curls.

    3. Blow dry. Put your head down, that way it won't take as long.

    4. wrap a very tiny section of hair in a half an inch curling iron, hold for about ten seconds, if the iron is hot enough. If it's not hot enough then you may need to hold it there for a few more seconds.

    5. Repeat until all hair is curled, which may take a while.

    I hope this helped! (:

Seriously go with a Chi. A great place to get them is at Target. If you buy them online be very careful since people are always trying to sell fakes...

I have very curly have and I've been using my Chi on my hair for over a year now, and it's the best thing I've tried (believe me I've tried a lot of straighteners). It's the best damage wise, it doesn't damage your hair as much as other straighteners. And it takes so much less time with the Chi. I've heard the GHD is wonderful, but also you have to be careful about fake ones on the web.

    Good luck! :D
get the babyliss pro straightener. They are titanium instead of ceramic. They heat up quicker and straighten hair way faster and easier. My mom has an afro and she used this once and fell in love with it. We both had a chi and they are great but this is new and it blows it out of the water. Salon's carry them so maybe they can let you sample it! Highly recommended and about the same price as a chi, but look online they are about 60$ cheaper vs. the salon

Have you tried product, there's stuff that holds natural curl. If you put it in and scruch it and try and stimulate the natural curl it should work. How can I get curly hair when my hair is naturally wavy?
I have really curly hair (born that way, no perm), like the kind you see on commericals. I have 3 younger sibs, one sib has some wave, but not much and the other two's hair is soooooooo straight! When my sisters want curly hair, I will make them take a shower, no conditioner, than I put leave-in conditioner on their wet hair, than scrunch it, and braid it into 4 sections, than they sleep in it, and when they wake up and get changed than I will take the rubber band out of their hair and comb it a little, but DO NOT BRUSH THE HAIR!!!!! Good luck!
    scrunch it.

its when ur hair is damp and you put gel/mouse/styling products in your hair. (run it throughout your hair) and then once you have the product even distributed scrunch. scrunch it by grabbing handfuls of hair, and push up. (starting for the bottom)

you do this to your whole head. and then either let it air dry or use blow dryer.

its kinda hard to explain so here's a video, if you have time to watch it:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpbA5EHO-

Ps: you dont have to put alot or product, it depends on your hair( how long it is)

another vid: (i like this one better)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUcLCtNJI
I would Just use A little Curling Iron or Get the top layer like damp and Get gel and Moose and a bit of Hairspray and Scrunch that Layer then Blow dry it it might be a but sticky at First!

But it will oventionaly go normal! :P
    My hair is really curly.

But only from the second layer and down.

I love my hair like that because my bangs come out straight.

But if you want all of your hair wavy/curly you could get a perm....or use a curling iron.
You're going to have to use a curling iron.

Unless you want like scrunched/ beachy hair, I recommend using Sunsilk products to scrunch it.
Try some ';Curls Up'; or similar product.
use products for curly hair %26amp; choose styles that add more curl. invest in hot rollers, hair pins, and a curling iron. have your hair dresser show you how to style your hair.
You can get aussie sprunch spray and wet your hair first all over and then spray it in and sprunch it. It really works. Or you can get some other product to make your hair curly all over. Good luck :)
Try a shag cut - it's done in layers so the top layer will be thinned and trimmed and the second layer will be what people see.
Spiral perm. You can go get it done at a cosmetology school for a cheaper price.
you can use an iron or you can put in curlers over night.
Try Herbal Essences Totally twisted shampoo, conditioner and curl scrunching gel.
Use moose and scrunch it in your hair, it works for me and i like it.
    perms always do the trickk(:
    iron
Get it wet, and then scrunch it with mouse. Thats what I do :) and my hairs lovely and curly
get the top of your hair permed at a salon.
    A perm.
My hair is like yours, a perm is the best answer
    curlers
    scrunch it
go to a salon and get a perm

    use a leave in conditioner

    or a deep conditioner

you can try to find one for your hair type tooHow do I make curly hair less dry?
Before you take a shower put in the regular conditioner you use

for 45 minutes. Your hair will absorb the conditioner more since it's dry. Try same thing with mayonise...trust me i know it sounds nasty but since its greasy it'll seriously deliver.
Before you go to bed, pour olive-oil over your hair until it is fully soaked, then put on a plastic cover, like a shower cap, and leave it until the next morning and wash it out and add conditioner. Your curls will be looser and it will shine and look very healthy.
I use conditioner everyday then a leave-in (Bed Head leave in -- comes in a pink bottle) and Tigi's Curl's Rock. That works really well for me and keeps my hair from being frizzy.
i definetely recommend ojon hair products... any of them. really. but for dryness and frizz in specific, you should use their restorative treatments or styling creams.

it might be a bit pricy but it seriously works and probably is the best products ive ever come across for hair.

hope this helps and goodluck with resolving =)
Try a little bit of oil sheen spray

    coconut oil works

you need something that will keep moisture in like grease or something with oil in it
If you dont mind putting some oil(not cooking oil of course)......put some
unless you want your to be greasey feeling for a while dont use any kinds of oils. there is conditioners that will say what it will do for your hair. try the brand Garnier Frutise.
I have similar hair. I have started using Karistasse products. It is sold in a lot of salons. Also, they have treatments at these salons that they can do made by this same product that have revolutionized my hair. Additionally, I will take their product called Masquintense and wash my hair in the evening. While it still wet, I will comb this product through my hair, wrap it in a plastic baggy and rubber band in a bun for the night and it feels awesome when I wash it in the am. I am sure this would work with most deep conditioners, but try these products just to see. They are expensive, but last forever and really work!!!!

How to blow out curly frizzy hair nicely?

I have VERYYYY curly hair and its veryyy frizzy. It isn't thick though. Everytime I blow it out, it's just a big frizz ball, but then I flat iron it and it goes down. But, I want to blow it out nicely without the flat iron.

Anyone have suggestions on how to make my hair shiny and not frizzy with just using a blow dryer? What products should I use in my hair? Please help! How to blow out curly frizzy hair nicely?
You need to get this product call Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell. It is like a smoothing serum..it is amazing.

But right before you do your hair and it is still damp put a pump of the serum into Your hand and rub it in and then run your hands through your hair, and when you blow dry it do small sections at a time and make sure you blow dry from the top of your hair strand to the end of the hair strand..and then when you are finished use cool air on your hair..it helps close the cuticles in your hair so that it is not frizzy.

Hope I helped you out =)How to blow out curly frizzy hair nicely?
Start with heat-protectant and heat-activated products... this way they work from the inside of your hair strand. Using a smoothing cream (Rusk Smooth), de-frizzing pomade (Rusk Define), and a flexible styling cream for hold (Rusk Wired) will help while your blow drying. But the key thing to use while your blow drying is a brush. This is what's going to ';straighten'; your hair. Starting with a vent brush, and then when your hair is almost completely dry use a round brush with tension.
When i straighten my hair, i use a flat iron

ive tried it with a blow dryer b4, and it looks horrible.

I use this product called Sleek Look, they come in orange bottles, and their spray makes your hair so sleek and soft!
i think there is a great conair ion blow dryer-

i saw it in Seventeen magazine- it defines curls and makes them very shiny and smooth.
The only way is to use a straightener.
don't blow dry it, let it air dry but use gel,creams/serums that are for curly hair or anti frizz

How do you get curly hair thinner?

I have naturally curly hair and its pretty thick.

If i thinned it, would it get frizzier?

How do they thin hair anyways? How do you get curly hair thinner?
Is your curly hair tight or loose? Either way, thinning your hair is all about how they do it. I have curly hair but its a medium curl and its pretty fine, so I don't have much frizz to begin with; but I've had my hair thinned to where it's frizzy. So it's all about how they thin it out. I would recommend seeing a stylist who specializes in curly hair, or even a salon. To keep curly hair from becoming frizzy is all about your product choice and aftercare. A big tip I would suggest is after you have chosen a style, whether you air dry or diffuse, LEAVE IT ALONE. Don't touch and play with curly hair, unless you want that tousled, frizzy look. Diffusing is a great way to quickly dry curly hair and leave it frizz free. Pay attention to the main ingredients of your styling products. Too much alcohol can dry your hair out, in turn causing frizz. Use a good moisturizing shamp and cond and treat it with care. How do you get curly hair thinner?
i had the same problem my hair was WAY tooooo thick and unmangable. so what i did, being a fan of choppy layers cut some layers into my hair by myslef going on nothing but a picture of layers in my head my hair came out hotter and thinner so take a chance good luck. and there are alot of products out there to de rizz your hair but the one i found to be best was my wet to straight straightener.

    Good Luck
Check out http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlpix to get some style ideas, then visit http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons to find a curl stylist expert in your area. It's important to see someone who really knows how to work with curly hair. Most stylists don't get any training with curly hair in beauty school.
They use a pair of scissors that cut the hair in different lengths and yes it will frizz more as it has several different short pieces of hair all over the head. I think it would be easier to just use a product to straighten it or defrizz it after the shampoo. One day you will like it.I promise i have thick curly hair and now i love it! My daughters both do as well and now as they are older can fix it so many different ways .Also how old are you? Our hair changes with age and usually at puberty it softens out some too.
When i go to the hairdressers, my hairdresser does this thing where she runs her scissors down the inside of the hair which doesn't affect the cut of the hair but takes a couple of chunks out to thin it out.

When you go to the salon ask your hairdresser these questions, they will know what to do. Just ask about the frizz, she could probably tell you a product that could calm it down a bit.

    Hope this helped you.

I have curly hair too and it will usually get poofier and bigger when it's thinner. They thin it with a blade basically which just cuts away part of the hair that makes it thick.
it wont get frizzer. my friend did it and she had very thick hair. the way they thin it is by cutting with scissor that have a comb in them. its kinda cool and works.
My friends have had this done. They have really thick hair too, and according to them, it REALLY helps. No, it doesn't cause frizz. They thin it using a razor. (: Good luck!
You should get layers and thin it out

They thin it by taking scissors and scraping them downward, it doesnt hurt or anything, but its no good to do often: just every couple of months.
    i have the same problem.

dont get it thinned out, my friend did that and it went frizzier and worse.
yeah don't get it thinned. it'll b poofier and frizzier and makes your ends ratty. i have curly hair
go to a stylist and ask for a razor cut it might cause more frizzies im not sure

How do you get curly hair from a wavy haired person with a straight haired person?

Through incomplete dominance, we get wavy hair, and curly hair is a dominant trait. Let's give the traits alleles. My friend has a grandpa who has wavy hair (Bb). Her grandma has straight hair(bb). My friend's mom has curly hair(BB). How is this possible? It didn't make sense when we made a punnett square. Please help! How do you get curly hair from a wavy haired person with a straight haired person?

  • How do you get curly hair to be strait?

I have naturally curly hair and I want strait hair so it would be managable. What would be good to die the hair blond. What should I use?How do you get curly hair to be strait?
    1.) Its spelled straight.

2.) Straighten it or blow dry it.

3.) It depends what color your hair is if you dye it.

4.) You can get straightening cream. Just use it when you get out of the shower and it will make hair easyer to straighten. How do you get curly hair to be strait?
To make your hair straight, you would have to straighten it using a flat iron straightener, or chemically straighten it using relaxers. If you want to dye your hair blond, use a home coloring kit or go to a salon.
omg, i used to have that same problem...i have naturally curly hair and i dont like it!!! first, i went to a really good hair stylist and had her thin my hair out a little. then, i went out and bought a straightener. i had a conair, that worked well for a while and then burned out in a few months...i do not recommend conair...i just bought a new revelon stlyix for $25 and i love it...it has one inch ceramic plates and straightes really well. there are also 25 different heat settings and i use #20...when i first started straightening, it took me about an hour and a half, but now, it takes me about 20 minutes!!! one more straightening tip: don't dry your hair b4 straightening it...it drys it out...it helps if you let it airdry, so take a shower the night b4 you want to straighten it!! good luck!!
If you are going to straighten your hair with a chemical straightener you do not want to dye it blonde. I always tell my clients to choose one or the other. I also speak from personal experience. I used to chemically straighten my hair and go blonde also and I ended up frying my hair and having to cut alot off. You can just use a straightening product such as Paul Mitchell's straightening gel. Put it in then blow dry your hair with a brush and then take a flat iron to it. This is only temperary. As for the blonde, go to a stylist or you could have major problems that will be expensive to fix if you use an at home product. Find a good stylist and she will help you decide what will be best for your hair.

You know what I'm talking about. :%26gt;)

  • How do I style curly hair that looks flat all the time?

I have natural blonde curly hair that just doesn't look the way I want it to look. I watch these commercials and I see these girls who have gorgeous hair that they can straighten and have curly whenever they want. It takes me forever to ';fix'; my hair in the morning because it just looks horrible. I need to find a way to make it work with either new styles, fast ways to style it, etc. Help me please! How do I style curly hair that looks flat all the time?
My hair is SUPER CURLY %26amp; SUPER THICK it falls to the middle of my back-I also have a hard time with it!!! I use citre shine serum-syrup whatever u call it %26amp; they also have the shampoo %26amp; conditioner-it's really good for ur hair just put the serum in ur hair after u wash it and use a diffuser n blowdryer this will keep ur hair more together not frizzy %26amp; it'll be nice soft n shiney! Once ur done-DO NOT TOUCH UR HAIR-it makes it messed up %26amp; frizzy! It also helps to have ur hair cut in layers. Trust me I quit fighting with my hair!!! When u use the diffuser get a clip n gather a lil hair in the front-flip ur head dn then blow dry it with the diffuser. As for the commercials-most of there hair is naturally straight so it's easier for them-if I used a straightening iron it would take me @ 4hrs.How do I style curly hair that looks flat all the time?
first of all, the girls on those comercials have their hair professionally done. it isn't natural. after you wash your hair, spray it with a defrizzing product (try DreamCurls by Frizz Ease), or spray on leave in conditioner. comb through it gently with a pick, which is a comb especially designed for curly hair. when your hair is damp, gently scrunch the curls with a curl cream or product (such as from Garnier Fructis or Curls Rock from Catwalk products)
I have naturally curly hair and am consantly trying new products. Try Matrix Curl life shampoo and conditioner and some mousse, like Tresseme. I also like Dream Curls spritz by Frizz Ease. Matrix is expensive but soooo worth it! When I want it straight, I use SleekMatrix and a ceramic flat iron by Conair with 25 heat settings! I love it!
well, commercials are just that, TV! Don't believe everything that you see on TV, they only have 30 seconds to make you want their product. The fact is that no one has perfect hair and that styling it does take a little bit of effort. For your curly hair, you could try just putting a little mousse in it when it is wet, and letting it dry naturally.

PS. Don't forget that everyone want the opposite of what they have, we all thisk that the grass is greener on the other side, I would kill for your curly hair, mine is pin straight!
Commericials are a lie. First, they use very expensive products, and they have someone do it for them that probably is extremely experienced, and works on it for hours. Not to mention the computers that make it look just so. Try gel, or try hairspray ifyou want to straighten it. Ignore the commercials. It's not true!

How does using a diffuser help curly hair?

Why to hair dressers and people use diffusers on curly hair? How is using a diffuser better than using a blow dryer without the attachment? Will it prevent frizz? How does using a diffuser help curly hair?
Preventing the frizz is the most important job of an air diffuser. The diffuser allows you to use a heated source of air on your hair without really ';blowing'; it away like a wind would. The fast air you get out of a blower makes your hair frizzy because you can't control it. The hair gets stretched out, but not smoothed out. The air diffuser diffuses, or spreads out, the air. So you get smoother curls or waves instead. Your curls dry essentially in place, with the least amount of stretching.

To prove this to yourself, blow dry half of your hair, then use the air diffuser to blow dry the other half. With a little practice, a good haircut, and perhaps, some help from a hairdresser, you should be getting great results! How does using a diffuser help curly hair?
a diffuser means it breaks up the heat/air(that's the best way i can describe it) so it's not so direct on your hair. if you have curls you can dry your hair and still have curls and not fuzz. rather than brushing while you dry, you sort of scrunch your hair to the diffuser end, and it dries your hair to look more natural.
um...ya...wen u use the diffuser, its sappose to spread air around instead of jus blowin in one direction lik a hairblower wud do...nd ya, it sappose to prevent frizz. but i dont think it make a lot of difference...but my hair's is different so thats jus my opinion...

How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?

My hair is really thick and curly, and it's pretty long. The curls are pretty loose, but that might be because I usually sleep with it wet.. So any tips would be much appreciated! Thanks! How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?
Well my roommate has really thick curly hair, and she usually puts mousse in it, and then uses a drier diffuser. It fits on the end of your blow drier. Then you face the drier so it goes up towards your face, not down towards your feet. this will allow your hair to dry, while not making it too frizzy. Hope this helps! How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?
use a diffuser on your blow dryer. it will keep your curls from being blown apart too much.

How can I get curly wavy hair without using heat?

My hair is very thin and has some natural curls at the bottom in it all ready. I want to have curly wavy hair without killing it with heat. If you have another option other than braiding it at night time that would be great. a guru on youtube has 1 way. check out her beach waves/ curls video. her username is s2pandapple. its an early videoHow can I get curly wavy hair without using heat?
I use products for curly hair, like Herbal Essence ';totally twisted'; curly hair shampoo and conditioner. While they are made to define naturally existing curls and waves, it creates more body, shinier and curlier hair then before. I also use leave-in conditioner for curly hair, to further define waves. When you use this (and after towel drying and brushing hair with a round brush), I scrunch my hair upwards with my hands with a little leave-in conditioner. Another good way, honestly, is to use the leave-in stuff and then drive around in a car with the window down, frequently scrunching up your hair.

    Hope this works.
i have super curly hair, but for ur hair you should wet it, get it layered, but still long, put scrunching gell in it to show curls off. also, shampoo for curly hair may help
you try getting a Brazilian keratin treatment it worked for my wife

here you go! paper bag curls haha
Put egg yolk in your hair and scrunch it with you hands. Or you c an put foam curlers in your hair when its wet, either sleep on it or let it dry.
when you get out of the shower put rollers in your hair and leave them in for two or three hours.
Take a shower, then but your hair in a tight bun and sleep on it.
    scrunch it

What are some tips on keeping curly hair in place and not frizzy?

I have curly hair and it never seems to stay straight. It always gets frizzy and poofy or goes back to curly again. Is there anyway I can get my hair straight w/o straighting it permanetly?

Also, when I wanna wear my hair down I put in moouse (after I shower-I shower at night) called Curls Up and put my hair in a bun. But in the morning when I take it off it just makes my curls poofy. What are some ways I can keep my natural curls nice and under control?

I wanna use new products but I'm not sure which ones to try, in fear that they will not work on my hair. I feel insecure when my hair is frizzy and just want it nice. :)What are some tips on keeping curly hair in place and not frizzy?
Just mouse it in the morning. When you wake up, bend over, and scrunch your hair up with mouse. It makes it look natural and very cute! If you don't like the look, you can alwys try braids as well! Those are very nice and tidy! What are some tips on keeping curly hair in place and not frizzy?
try not washing your hair every day the natural oils will keep it weighted down a touch

Well I'm not sure what kind of hair texture you have. My Grand-

daughters has 3 textures in their hair. Their 1/2 Mexican/American, 25% African/American,25% White, so you

see that's where the 3 textures comes in, anyways my daughter

will use BBS hair lotion, which is not greasy at all. That will keep

your hair curly and frizz free. To straighten your hair you can use

the same thing but only use a flat iron. That should straighten

out your hair. If use use it, place a little on the palm of your hand ,

rub your hand together and rub in your hair evenly. For curly

hair use a pic to pic your tangle out then, crunch your hair to

make your natural curls come out just right.
try frizz ease by john frieda it works lyke a charm
I feel your pain!! Right now I'm just using suave hair gel (because I'm cheap) and going curly because it is easiest. I have a straight iron, but if there is any humidity I will still get waves. Try talking to your hair stylist and see what he/she uses to keep your hair straight, because when I go have my hair straightend it can stay straight for days and yes, I won't wash it for a couple of days just to keep the straight look.
To get the effect you are looking for use ';pomade'; there are many different companies that make it but look for ';pomade';. Put a little between the palms of your hands then rub it through your hair. Don't rub any into the roots just through the hair to the ends. Don't use too much because it will make your hair look greasy.
OK if you wanna wear your hair curly you gotta use gel and hair spray plus a blow dryer to diffuse (scrunch). use pantene's flexible hold they have a line for curly hair too I think. so what you do is before putting the gel on towel dry your hair and scrunch small sections at a time with your towel (to dry off excess water and get your hair to start curling up) after doing that for like 5-10 mins split your hair in half than add the gel through each half of your hair. than spray some hairspray evenly through your hair. to help it dry faster and to shape it into nice curls use a blowdryer. if you have the defusser attachment it works best. so just scrunch up portions of your hair at a time with the difuser and hold it in place for about a min. push the blowdryer all the way up to your scalp (with your hair in the diffuser) and hold it for like a minute. then let it drop. your hair should start getting dry and staying in nice big curls. keep doing that until you get the result you want!

to wear it straigh you need to use a straightening serum plus a good flat iron.(get one that has the adjustable temperature dial) first blow dry your hair super good so that its completely dry if you leave any moisture its gonna frizz. what I do.. I put this product comes in a purple bottle called enjoy (they have it at planet beauty) right after I get out of the shower. than I blow dry. after blow dry I seperate hair in sections. than I add a little more of the serum as I go along putting a little bit on every small section right before passing the straightner through it. finally you can get something like bio silk (another serum) that you can put after your done to give your hair more shine and frizz control!! your done!
someone asked a question just like this...this is what i suggested for them to do...

i had the same problem with my hair. it was so time consuming and it still never looked how i wanted it to...now when i want to wear it curly i towel dry it really good until its just a little damp and then i put some ';tresemme mousse'; on it (i usually use thickening mousse, or curl enhancing mousse) i then scrunch it a little with my head flipped upside down. then let it air dry so it dosnt get frizzy. keep scrunching it every so often till its dry so it dosnt go completely flat. spray it with some ';tresseme'; extra hold hairspray to set it and you should be good to go! if you still dont have the look that you want take a 1 in. curling iron and curl a couple pieces hear and there.

if your hairs still frizzy, try a hair pomade. garnier fructis has a nice one. do the same thing with the pomade that you did with the mousse. its a little stickier and thicker so it holds down the frizz. (just dont use too much)

just another tip: i have tried every straightener out there..i used to spend about an hr. each night straightening my hair...when i was done it was still a bit poofy...THEN i got the ';Chi';. a friend used it on my hair and when she was finished it was poker straight for the first time in my life. my hour long straighteneing session is now only about 15 min!! its a little pricey, but in my opinion its well worth it! you might want to try it out!

FYI (incase your unsure): The ';Chi'; is a ceramic straightening iron. I got mine at Trade Secrets. I saw a ';generic'; one at Sally's Beauty Supply for half the price. I'm not sure if it works as good, most of Sally's ';generic'; brand works as well as the name brand that they're imitating...but its worth a try (you could always take it back if it doesn't work). I know for sure that the Chi works like a charm tho.

well good luck, i really hope i was able to help you! :)
wen ur hair is wet put on moose in the mornin at the same time squish it to fold. It will look beautiful.!
You could always try new shampoos/conditioners and other products. At Walmart (and some drugstores too) there are sample hair products available that only cost 99 cents. You could purchase a few different brands of conditioners and smoothing products to try at home. By buying the samples, you can see if the product works before you buy the full sizes. I use the sunsilk anti frizz conditioner (green bottle).

I take a shower at night too and my hair is wavy and tends to be very dry. I noticed that when my hair doesn't dry completly over night and is still damp in the morning, it gets frizzier. Towel off as much water as you can after your shower so your hair has a better chance of drying completely. I suggest that you try a hairdryer with a diffuser, they are relatively inexpensive. The diffuser helps to eliminate the frizzy-ness.

    I hope this helps!
try going to sleep with an old t-shirt around your head. Just get your hair under the shirt and sleep. you'll have great frizz-free curls in the morning. also try using some lotion or a little gel in your hair in the morning, but not too much.
I have crazy curly hair, and I just use a ceramic straightening iron (the ';clamp'; kind) on dry hair after I brush it. It takes awhile and you have to go over the same hair a few times, but it stays without any extra products and stays until I take a shower (even over night)

For curls, I take a shower, brush my hair, put in Frizz Ease mousse and then spray Frizz Ease humidity barrier hairspray, and let airdry. Works great and I used to have crazy horrid hair.
dont wash it every day grease baby
ok! if you want non frizzy curls, you need to wash it and give it a good conditioner, I suggest a conditoner that is made for curley hair or non frizzy or a color lock conditioner, once you have washed your hair try and aviod using the towel to dry it and and only comb it once then srunch your hair with your hand, if you like you can add a leave in conditoner or if you plan to straigten your hair later on add a product which will protect it from heat damage, once you have done that let your hair dry by itself, no hair dryers or sitting infront of the heater, while its drying check your hair and use your fingers to twirl the hair to help keep your curls more defined, when you go to bed dont put it in a bun or anything just leave it as it is, in the morning only wet it on top or in spots that may have frizzed abit and then add moose and spray with hair spray if you want extra hold, if you dont like sleeping with your hair all out I find putting them in plaits one on each side of your head helps keep the curls under control.
you can use a hair straightener. it's like a curling iron, except it has two flat plates that smooth and straighten your hair as you run it down each section of hair. I have an african american friend who has ';poofy'; hair. she straightened it once and it was so cute!

you can also use pomade. pomade is supposed to make your hair more manageable. my friend has some that smells like coconut! is so yummy smelling! i hope i helped!
I have curly out of control hair. You need to go to a sally's beauty supply store and get proclaim frizz control oil, or frizz ease. It is a light oil that tames your hair,it won't be greasyYou may find a similar product in a drug store. When your hair is damp you put va nickle size and rub in your hand then run it through your ends first then work through the rest of your hair. Then when you straighten it the product locks in shine and keeps it straight. Your problem may be what your using to style your hair. If you are blowing it dry make sure you are not blowing it all over, use a brush and smooth it while drying it,then use an iron. I have an amazing iron,it cost me 120.00dollars but i have had it for 3 years. I got it off ebay its a FHI ionic, ceramic flat iron.It heats up to 450 degrees and i can sleep on my straight hair and it will still be smooth and straight in the morning. I don't have just curly hair i have kinky curly hair. It works really great. As for wearing it curly you n eed to get a pomade for curly hair,it keeps your curls defined and neat instead of frizzy fuzzy mess. If you get this iron you will need minimal product because it is so amazing. Look at john freida products i have heard good things about them.
I have long curly hair and for most of my life I tried to control it. Use on salon products shampoo conditioner and gels for curly hair it make a difference. Dry your hair in sections completely. Then use a good flat iron. Lots of work, although at times worth it I know love my curls just shower apply lots of gel dry my bangs and that it.

  • Is the direction of curly hair effected by left or right handedness?

I wondered if it would go clockwise or anticlockwise depending on handedness. I ask because my (left handed) sister has a few similar characteristics as my father and i, but 'reversed', and i wondered if the same would go for hair.Is the direction of curly hair effected by left or right handedness?
The curl direction of the hair is based on the direction and angle that the follicle is sitting inside the skin, so it has nothing to do with being left or right handed.

When you use a curly hair product, should you let it air dry or blow dry it with a diffuser?

I just got the be curly product (not a shampoo or conditioner) from Aveda. It says in the instructions to let air dry or use a diffuser. I have wavy hair, but not too curly. Should I let it air dry or use my diffuser attachment to my blow dryer? When you use a curly hair product, should you let it air dry or blow dry it with a diffuser?
Use a diffuser, but don't dry your hair all the way. Get it to the point where the hair is only somewhat damp, and then allow your hair to air dry. Good luck! :)When you use a curly hair product, should you let it air dry or blow dry it with a diffuser?
Just let it air dry. I have nautrally wavey hair, so I just put in curling product while my hair is damp, spray in a little hairspray and let it air dry. It keeps a nice shiney, curly wet look all day. =]
since u don't have naturally curly hair, u have to use the diffuser.

Take a look www.t3straighteners.co.ukHow do I get curly hair to stay all night?
i have the same problem i have baby fine hair, but because i use chemicals blonding on my hair i cannot use a perm you could try that if your hair is its natural colour , the only other solution is what i do i wash my hair put it in velvro curlers and dry it, then spray with hair spray before you take out the curlers leave it till it cools then take it out , comb it then spray a little more on to hold it in place. or you can while its wet put some mousse on then set it and dry it, then spray to keep in its place
Stop using hot rollers. Heat does not hold curls. Buy you a few packages of the plastic magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel, and a bottle of Lotta Body Setting Lotion. You will see the difference once you remove the first roller.
