What is your best tip for healthy curly hair?

What kinds of products do you use? How often do you wash your hair? Anything else? What is your best tip for healthy curly hair?
I have naturally curly hair and am always complimented on it (even by men if you can believe them noticing that!).

1. I was it every other day (but shower daily of course :) )

2. I use either a straightening or hydrating shampoo (shampoos for straight hair don't really make your hair straight...they just have extra conditioners in them so they leave more build up on the hair...and in marketing terms...straighten the hair).

3. I get it cut or trimmed if i'm trying to grow it every 4-8 weeks.

4. I process my hair a lot (right now I have 2 shades of blonde highlights mixed in with red panels and brunetteish on the bottom...I get it professionally done and don't screw with things at a drugstore.

5. With curly hair especially don't brush it. Use a large comb. When you're in the shower, let the condition sit in and before you rinse it out use the large-toothed comb to comb the conditioner through. Your hair is smooth and silky and needs no brushing. Brushing breaks your hair! What is your best tip for healthy curly hair?
