Whats the best and safest way to straighten curly hair?

You must start with a shampoo and conditioner to help straighten hair. Then use a leave in conditioner to add protection before applying heat. #2 use a hair serum to help straighten like Paul Mitchell hair serum this is light weight and helps detangle the hair (make sure her ends are freshly cut for healthy hair). #3 blow dry on high air, cool temperature (this will help help the softness and sheen) This is an important step. Use a vented hairbrush while blow drying. #4 use a flat iron on heat setting 10-15 depend on the texture of hair for fine thin a hair use the 10 setting or lowest temp. for thick to coarse use 12-15 or med temps. #5 finish with a hair polish spray for shine.

First try having her apply a straightening cream after showering, and then blow drying with a round brush. If that isn't straight enough for her, you should buy a hair straightener. They have improved a lot. Ceramic straighteners don't damage hair as much. Also, if you apply a heat protectant spray to her hair before she straightens it, she should be fine. Also, have her use the lowest setting possible on the straightener. The site below has more tips for getting straight hair.Whats the best and safest way to straighten curly hair?
i dont know. i have the same problem. i also have curly hair but keep it natural and style it as best as possible.
The problem comes with deciding to use chemicals (like relaxers)or heat (like flat irons). I'd say if you wanted to go curly after your straight phase, invest in a good flat iron. Heat of course can sometimes be damaging to hair so you'll want to condition your hair every other wash and deep condition once a week ( or every 4 washes). I'm not a professional, but my hair stylist has given me the same advice. **I'm assuming you wash your hair daily.**

Some things to remember...conditioning everyday will leave build-up on your scalp. Use 2 different shampoos and alternate them. Maybe one for body and shine, and one for dry scalp or something to keep your hair from getting resistant to one type of shampoo.

Hope this helps.
