What is the best hair straightener for frizzy, curly hair?

I have extremely frizzy and curly hair.

I'm looking for something under $80, so don't suggest something more expensive. (no CHIs!)

And I'm really looking for opinions from frizzy/curly hair people, not silky or straight haired people.

Thanks. What is the best hair straightener for frizzy, curly hair?
I assume you are talking about a ';FLAT IRON';...

a straightener is ( a chemical you put on hair to straighten it)

There are now a million and one brands...because of all the competition...

you now have many choices and it has brought the price WAY down...

My very first flat iron was bought in 1996 %26amp; cost $300. - - I had it brought back from England and it sucked,

my next one was $800.!!! but I was the hit of the SALON scene....everyone borrowed it everywhere I went....till it was stolen at a Photo Shoot.

Spend as much as you can because you can literally SAVE YOUR HAIR by using a better quality flat iron ( Buy one less CD this week - your hair will love you)

you need a good iron to have:

~ IONIC technology ( emits negative ions saves hair)

~ Ceramic heating element inside

~ Ceramic plates

~ Temp control

~ No higher than 410 Degrees

A GREAT iron has steam holes...so you can take hair from damp to dry....the moisture protects the hair.

Never Flat Iron more than one time per day.... and always use a protective thermal coating prior to use, to protect it......

The Iron's I love and most pro's use...( before all these new ones came out) are the Magic's.....I think my next one will be the GHD....but they are a bit above your price range...

you can get a GREAT Iron for $90.-$100 now......

it blows me away........

lucky you

you are also right.. CHI's suck

buy from a company who specializes in FLAT IRON's or electrical appliances...not one that decides to get on the wagon and come out with an iron because they think they can make a buck....

CHI comes from the company that makes BIOSILK

...Biosilk was one of the first silicone serum manufacturers ...you know those oily drops that help keep frizzy hair, NOT frizzy... but don't work that well any more! They tried making hair color and a lot of other products as well but none of them were ever any good.

Solia. worth every penny. i have one my self http://www.folica.com
Well I was going to say CHI, it is the best out there.

Look for one be wella. They are cheaper, but still work great and is still on the professional line. You need one that is VERY hot!
I have straight hair but I happen to be a hair stylist. Chi is the best but if you can't go that high just go to your local beauty supply house (Sally's etc ....you probually won't get the results you want from walmart brands) and get a thermal version that is similar. Ask the Sales clerk which one is the best seller. These are some good name brands if they have any of these:

Tourmaline

Folica

Rusk

Wella

Redken

Ionic

Jowel

Equage
Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.

Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.

According to the Solia flat iron website, ';tourmaline,

a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more

negative ions than traditional ceramic irons';.( $75/85)
