I am getting a longhaired puppy or a curly haired one, what are the advantages of getting a dog in Febuary ?

I am getting a longhaired puppy or a curly haired one, what are the advantages of getting a dog in Febuary ? My dad said there are problems with training it, are there??I am getting a longhaired puppy or a curly haired one, what are the advantages of getting a dog in Febuary ?
For a start I don't think time of year has anything to do with anything so dont worry about that. As for the training, it depends on what breed it is, which can make a big difference, as terriers and hounds tend to be particulally stubborn. It also depends on the personality of the dog itself.

However, if you train a dog regulaly, (never train it for more than 15 minutes at a time it will get bored and you might get frustrated with it which can undo all your hard work) any dog can be well trained and well behaved.

The problem with longhaired breeds is they can be a pain to groom, but i have a poodle (which need tons of grooming) and she is soooooo worth it.

Hope this helps and good luck with your pup, and sure youll be fine.I am getting a longhaired puppy or a curly haired one, what are the advantages of getting a dog in Febuary ?

Your dad may say that because of the cooler weather but depending on the area, you can still potty train your puppy .And if they are reluctant to go out, you can get them a dog coat to keep them warm.
there are really no advantages or disadvantages to getting a puppy in February. the only thing that will make a difference is how well trained the puppy is. although, in February, the puppy can't run around in the yard or go for walks, but that isn't a really big problem
February is a good time to adopt from shelters, because all the people who got ';Christmas puppies'; and then discovered that they're more work than they bargained for start dumping them at the end of January, so you should (unfortunately) have a lot of choices to adopt from.
Okay.....seriously....your Dad said that? Think logical......why would February be any different than say....July? No disrespect to your Pop, but as a breeder of CH breeds.....I have NEVER had any issues with puppies born in cold weather or warm weather.......I highly suggest you do some homework on the breed of puppie you want....and educate your Dad.
it doesnt matter WHEN you get the puppy, it HOW you train it that matters most.

it also doesnt matter how their fur is.

just do your best to learn about training and about the breed
Uh... what? There is no specific benefit, or problem, with getting a puppy in February, at least not that has to do with the dog. I really have no idea what that could possibly mean. A puppy is a puppy no matter when you get it. Your Dad fed you a very odd idea, no offense meant.
