My hair is med-long, enough to tie into a ponytail.
Should I cut is shorter and in layers? What is the best cut for naturally curly/wavey hair?
My naturally wavy hair is also med long, getting longer by the day, also, very very thick. I got lots of subtle layers and the bulk thinned out a bit, (though it still looks thick and healthy) It just makes the hair lighter and easier to style, and I find that it looks absolutely gorgeous when washed and left to dry naturally (maybe use a bit of product) as the curls/waves just look lighter and airier and pretty. It's also relatively easy to straighten or blowdry straight if you don't always want a wavy look. Good luck! What is the best cut for naturally curly/wavey hair?

Let me find photos
This is currently my hair cut, and my hair is curly/wavy. I have pretty thick hair and the way its cut makes it easy for me to scrunch it or straighten it. I use Garnier Fructis curling enhancing mousse straight out of the shower on towel-dryed hair.
My stylist used the brick-layering technique. With my bangs I blow dry, straighten, and sweep part of them to the side. I love it, and I hope you do too!

I have curly/wavy hair and I have mine cut with layers, short on the outside and longer on the inside. It looks really good.
Most guys, myself included, like a girl to at least have hair to her shoulders, very few girls can pull off the short short short ';boy cut'; As long as it's to your shoulders, I'd say you're good as long as you like it. If you wanna see what it looks like really really short, go for it. It'll always grow back. lol
It also depends on your face shape...im no expert at this so i suggest googling 'face shape - haircuts' yeahh
