I have naturally curly hair and would like to workout daily. I wear my hair blown out, because I don't like the way my hair falls curly. I was thinking that I should get a texturizer and maybe it would fall better, but I have virgin hair, and I'm scared of damaging it even more after a chlorine-filled summer. I am trying to stay away from flat irons, any suggestions? What are some tips for people with naturally curly hair?
I have had naturally curly hair my entire life and after years of frizz and afro-like hair, I've mastered training it. My routine is as follows:
towel dry sopping wet hair. Apply liberal amounts of mousse from root to tip (don't forget the back!). Scrunch lightly with towel. Spray aqua net (or strong hair spray) all over. Then use a diffuser at the end of your blow dryer and dry it. Hang your head, put your hair in the diffuser and hold it steady until that section is dry (or halfway dry), and do that to your entire head. I usually only dry it half way and let the rest air dry. After it's dry, and if frizzy, I put a little serum on the frizzy parts.
I do this about every other day and my hair is gorgeous. I get complimented all the time. What are some tips for people with naturally curly hair?
I'm a stylist. Here's the best solution. :)
Ask your stylist to cut your hair with helix shears. They curl your hair naturally, without chemicals and can be placed strategically to help your hair fall better.
Also a great product is key. I like pureology waxes or creams for curly hair. Or if you're in a pinch just use one teaspoon of olive oil. :)
