How do i make pin straight hair curly like carrie underwood without spending a lot of money?

My hair is pin straight! When I get my hair done for homecoming and stuff I pay 60 or 70 dollars and an hour later all the curls have fallen. My hair is like impossible to keep curled and i really think that her hairstyle is really cute so if anyone has had the same problem and found a solution or if anyone has any suggestions please share :)How do i make pin straight hair curly like carrie underwood without spending a lot of money?

I have the same problem. Usually the night before i french braid my hair in 3 sections or more. i use Herbal Essences Scrunch gel in it (damp not soaking wet) and keep it in over night and spray it with the strong hold hair spray they have (they work great and smell wonderful) or you can put it in a bunch of scrunchy ponytails and go for the messy look. a triple barrel curling iron works too but i like braiding it. If you use the right products then you can curl them into spiral curls too, herbal essences has cheap good smelling WORKING products.
You can do it yourself if you have the time. Use a curling iron. The larger the iron the larger the curls and vice versa. I would use an oil for your hair as well but be careful not to use too much. Just a little bit for each strand that you curl. The oil will help heat your hair faster and keep it smooth and not frizzy. Try to find one that isn't sticky either. Pantene makes a good one. It's a small glass bottle (has a black pump). You don't want too much hair at a time either. If your hair is layered it will be easier to get the effect you want. It helps to split your hair in sections and start from the bottom up. That way you don't mess up what you have already done. Remember to use a good hairspray too. I always use Aquanet because it's real strong. I use the white bottle. Good luck!
