I'm not sure what to do with my hair for my formal/prom.
My hair's medium i guess.. %26amp; it's layered atm
Any ideas? I was think maybe something like rihannas, like short on one side and as it goes around it gets longer
Or maybe just some nice curls?
Heeelp mee %26lt;3
Btw, My dress is black lacy with a hit of blue under and it's straps and goes straight across.Help with ';formal'; hair styles?
OMG! some nice long curls would look amazing for prom! but the rihanna style....NO!! not for prom! u want to avoid bold styles like that!! if u get it cut wrong from a salon u will definetly regret it! and im pretty sure u wont get the results u want. u dont want it to turn out horrible! beacuse this is a very difficult cut! its easy to mess up, not very ';formal';
sorry! not trying to be rude, but ive had ppl who have experienced awful hair cuts by trying to copy a celeberty style! play it safe. curls are lovley! thats what im getting for my prom! and maybe add a small tiara or something more stand outish!Help with ';formal'; hair styles?
hey pals, why dont have a try 2 style ur hair-by urself! hv a look this page
http://www.dressytresses.com/hair/galler
i tried lot of them and people around me said 'wow, do u really make it by urself?' this site has nice hairstyle 4 party, prom, or daily, try some!
or if u want to choose rihanna haircut or curly, i think curly is better! look at ashley simpson's curly med hair, oh so wow!

I need a somewhat formal hair style for me....pics included?
Ok so I'm going to a gala in a couple weeks but don't have the time to go by a hair salon to get my hair done so I need a cute hairstyle that I can do with my hair.
This is me:

What kind of hair style would look good for me, that I would be able to do myself? If it helps my hair is kind of thick.I need a somewhat formal hair style for me....pics included?
Your dress is gorgeous!
You should do your hair like this:

You could even do your make up like that too

Well, the easiest thing to do would to keep it down. You can put it in a head band or something to make it look cute. Or if you have some small clips, break up the front part of your hair into small sections. Twist each section towards the back of your head and clip. It's kind of hard to describe.
Here are some cute short hair pictures if you need some ideas:

Ideas for a more formal hair style?
I'm going to a christmas dinner out to this new trump tower in oahu, and I'm wearing a knee length light blue hawaiian dress. Its a beach dress, but not really because its too expensive and delicatel so its a formal dress. I have thick, shoulder length blonde hair, and a heart shaped face. What kind of hairstyle should I do?! I don't have any hairspray, and I could only find 1 hair elastic in my house... I have a couple flower clips, and that's all. Help please!Ideas for a more formal hair style?
What you could do is part it to the side, take a strand from the very front, braid it, and pin it back with a flower clip...And curl it, preferably, if you have a curler.Ideas for a more formal hair style?
loose curls and two segments from each side pinned back
Hi! (: Here are some quick instructions on a pin up, VERY easy, and fancy look.
1. Part your hair to a deep side part (leave it if you have bangs)
2. Twist your hair bangs and gather more hair each twist.
3. Pin that down to keep it from falling.
4. Use a bigger flower clip, and simply slide it up into its highest point on one side.
I hope this helps. :D Good luck!
If your hair is long enough try a low ponytail with a flower clip

just curl up all your ends clockwise on the right and counter on the left after you straiten it and to add volume get the end of a comb with a long stick part and make your part line thrown over itself in a Sense. I'm assuming your hair is layered.make up school

Help with a formal hair style!?
ok i posted this on a different question, but i got noo answers. hate when that happens. anyway, here's the link to my other question.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;
i was thinking about curling it, but i tried and i couldn't figure out how to make it look good. so maybe some help on that ?
also, i was thinking about crimping it. i have a really cheap crimper, but it takes lyk an hour to heat up. yeah its a piece of junk, i know. but can anybody give me some tips on that? i would also appreciate some other ideas... thanks !Help with a formal hair style!?
I don't know how long your bangs are so it is hard to help you with a hairstyle. How about just pulling those bangs back a bit with a ribbon that matches your dress - or mousse your hair and borrow a large curling iron and curl your hair in long curls like Madonna does.
Good luck, but mostly congratulations and have fun!make up school

Whats a good formal hair style for a pageant that's easy and quick?
I have a lot of thick, hard, and straight hair that falls a little below my shoulders. my pageant finale gives me about less than 10 minutes to change from my dance number outfit into my formal dress and do my hair and makeup. what's a good easy hairstyle that i can do and goes well with kinda tan skin, a round face, and a floorlength royal blue dress that's short in the front and has a train in the bac? best answer for 10 points! thnx!!Whats a good formal hair style for a pageant that's easy and quick?

Help! Winter formal Hair Style?
So I have winter formal this weekend and I have no idea how I should do my hair
I usually don't like to get updos but that's what I end up getting.

ok. so obviously you want curls. that's the easiest thing to work with-but personally i think it should all be up-the dress is real pretty, and you have a pretty face so you dont want to take away from that. anything up in curls.Help! Winter formal Hair Style?
I like the 1st one or the 4th one, just wear down and curly or wavy will look the best. Good luck and have fun!!!
Cute dress, I like the 1st style. I stood up in a wedding and didn't have the time or $175.00 for the ';do'; so I bought a hair piece from a beauty supply shop for $20.00 and It only took 10 mins out of the shower poneytail and hair clipped my piece in and my hair was done!!! All the other bridemaids cryed about waking up at 5:30am and spending all that money my hair looked better than everyones! One jelous brat turned and confronted me and asked how much my hair-do everyone looked at me when I said i did it myself, then she started asking questions on how I got it to look so good, I said '; oh you like it, here you can borrow it...then I yanked out the hair piece and everyone screemed! We were dying laughing and she looked like the *** bragging about her $250.00 do!
I got so many compliments on my hair and the brides Mom even said my hair was the prettiest, so I yanked it out and scared the heck out of her too! It was fun, cheap, and painless!
The 1st or last one! Those are beautiful. And would look amazing with the dress.
it depends on your dress and the color but i think http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u215/Elisha_56/hairstyle/promhairdo.jpg
that one is the most formal looking one
because it still has a good style to it
the first one.
it would bring out your face more.

Semi-formal hair style for a strapless dress?
Soooo, here's the deal. I've got my semi-formal school dance coming up in a couple of weeks, and I don't know what to do with my hair. My hair is dark blond, very thick, and goes about 6 inches below my shoulders. My dress is strapless, and has a bold pattern to it. My question is, should I wear my hair up or down? What would look best with a strapless dress? Keep in mind it's a SEMI-formal event. I'm getting my hair dresser to do it, so pictures would be much appreciated.
Thanks. :)Semi-formal hair style for a strapless dress?

Semi-Formal Hair Style Ideas (Down-Do Needed!)?
I am in need of ideas for my school's formal which is in less than two weeks. I thought about getting triple barrel curls but that idea isn't working now. I'm looking for down-do ideas. I have a round face (so curls beside it seem to make it rounder in my opinion). My hair is medium length (falls around the top of my chest) and it's thick, straight and medium brown. My dress is halter style and I wasn't really aiming for an updo as I find it concentrates 99% of the attention to my face and not my body. If anyone has any ideas they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Semi-Formal Hair Style Ideas (Down-Do Needed!)?
Have you thought of a half up-half down?
They're easy and perfect for semi-formals.
like these:
http://www.getbeautytips.com/Articles/im
if you want to keep your hair straight
or if you want to use an updo, while slimming your round face you could go for something like this:
http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.co
there are lots of how-to hair videos on you tube.
good luck.Semi-Formal Hair Style Ideas (Down-Do Needed!)?
Since your dress is halter style I would recommend a half up and half down. Which will let just enough hair to fall on your shoulders but not too much to cover them. Shoulders always look sexy in a halter! When your hair is damp, rub in some curl activating mousse. Next, place your hair in some hot curlers until they are completely cooled. Take down one by one and flip your head over and run your fingers through to loosen the curlsinto pretty waves (almost complimenting) then take the top half of your hair and pin it back. Spritz lightly with some hairspray. Its so simple but looks very chic.

HELP: Semi Formal hair style?!?
I Have no clue on how to wear my hair to Semi!!! I have elbow length, med brown hair. OH and its wavy/curly. I don't want to wear it up, because it's too much. Maybe half up? Please give me ideas, and/or pics!!! THANKSHELP: Semi Formal hair style?!?
what i love to do is take the hair pieces that are right above my ears and just bring them around to the back, then clip them together. simple, classy, and looks great!! :) i also recommend trying new things. see what you like best.HELP: Semi Formal hair style?!?
Take the top half of your hair and part it off around the circumference of your head from temple to temple. Make a pony tail using a COVERED elastic band. Don't pull the pony tail too tight. Now, poke your finger between the pony tail holder and the back of your head and thread the pony tail through that hole and pull it down until it covers the pony tail holder. Loosely curl the long ends fo your hair with either hot rollers or curling iron and then subdivide the pony tails into strands and curl the ends of the pony tail with a curling iron, changing the directions that you curl the hair in. This will make it look fuller and not so ';set'; looking. You can also pull out some dangles around the face if you want to. Spray with spray to hold the curls.
yea
half up is semi formal
ortherwise you can do it in a messy bun =]
i would suggest wearing your hair half up in a half ponytail with your hair being in nice loose waves. if you have bangs, where then down and straighten them. hope i helped! (:make up school
what i love to do is take the hair pieces that are right above my ears and just bring them around to the back, then clip them together. simple, classy, and looks great!!

Semi-Formal hair style??
How should I style my hair for a semi-formal and is a silver flowy dress that goes down to mid-calf w/ twisted straps too formal for a semi-formal?Semi-Formal hair style??
Go to http://www.PromDressShop.com click on prom tips, then click on hairstyles, they have some good hair styles to look at.Semi-Formal hair style??
I think it would look cute if you curled your hair and then put it up in a half pony. that's what I would probably do.
get an updo
If you have medium to longer length hair, the standard for semi-formal to formal is to have something done that is much different from a day to day style. Hence, updo's.
An updo that leaves some of your hair dangling down the back (nape) of your neck is usually very flattering to all face and body shapes. In fact, leaving some hair dangling down diminishes any harsh lines that a total updo can leave and generally is more slimming if this is a concern.
Don't try to do this yourself though unless you have practiced several times before the date! If you do it yourself, have someone there to help you with the back and to insure the bobby pins are hidden. It could end up being a panic session and frustration. Find a salon that REGULARLY does updos. (Ask any parent of a high school age girl to find one) or another often great and inexpensive source is to go to a beauty school. Make sure you ask for a advanced student to work on your hair. An experienced person will take about 1-2 hours to do a beautiful look.
Make sure to tell them if you want braids and curls etc... incorporated into the look and whether or not you want all of your forehead hair pulled tightly or loosely back etc.

yeah you should pull some of your hair up but leave most down and curl it really pretty
HERE IS A FEW IDEAS IVE DONE IN THE PAST';
* big spiral curls http://www.conair.com/images/hc_cd96_opt
* ringlet curls
* spiral french twist
http://www.3-ibm.com/prom_updos/images/u ( than curl the hair thats hanging down )
* upside down french twist ( short hair )
i think when you scrunch your hair it's awsome for any occasion it's very pretty also
if you have longish hair, just curl it. :)
if its short, you can still curl it, or do a messy half bun thing.
you sound like u look like me cept i have greengray eyes and dark brown hair.
